I feel that Scaramouche is kind of divided into these three personas that you've depicted. Scaramouche is the puppet that shed tears in his sleep and thus was tossed aside by his "unknown mother goose". Scaramouche is the lonesome young man who was on a path to forge his identity. Scaramouche is the Harbinger feared by all for his cruelty and heartlessness. The Gnosis doesn't make him whole, it mixes all his personalities until he's a twisted doll with a heart, albeit an evil and dark one (the end of the video shows versions of Scaramouche joined together).

It was actually quite common for boys to have long hair during the time period Scaramouche and Inazuma represent. Thus, it is highly likely that during the time Scara believed he was a normal human, that his hair was long. After finding out his life was a lie, via the Fatui, cutting his hair would symbolize moving on a new path. It is quite common to change hairstyle when going through major life changing decisions. So overall, this theory could possible be true. Even the original Chinese VA of Scara supports the theory.
