These are great for clamping a mitre'd Frame. A little fiddly to setup but once on apply decent pressure. Worth having in a workshop drawer!

I have adapted this slightly for use under a fridge freezer housing that will allow the client acess to the shelving above the appliance and also lift the small fridge freezer a little higher.

We rented an apartment in Vienna and it had three of these 'hidden' drawers. We were there a year before we discovered them! 🤣. Love your channel and just subscribed. Always wished I'd trained as a joiner/carpenter - but just dabble now retired.

I hadn’t thought of that. A modification of that will make an excellent retractable front step up in to my outside shed which is built on 18” stilts or stumps. It will be handy because I can sweep sawdust etc straight out the front door into the bin, which I couldn’t do if I put s permanent step there. Thanks.

Awesome to be inspiring ideas!! I would perhaps use a normal drawer runner in that scenario and have a stop point at which you lift/sit the step on to locate. that way there is no chance of the step retracting while your inside.
V v nice job

Great idea and nicely filmed too. I am almost a foot taller (30cm) than my wife, so something like this in front of the kitchen sink would be fantastic!

I wish we could’ve seen the install and I apologize if I missed it, but what is a kitchen plinth step? Brilliant job with all the bells and whistles, it’s gorgeous!
@BradshawJoinery
2 жыл бұрын
Thankyou, a plinth is the kick board under your kitchen cabinets. this is designed so you cut a section of kickboard and then attach to either a drawer or this step for extra storage or reach for shorterpeople/taller kitchens
👍
Great work .🎯🎯🎯 👍👍👍 I just made the draw box out of 18mm birch ply put pads on the front underneath and had a sliding step inside the draw like a tray as the step only needs to be about half the drawer depth, with a hand hole to remove if nessesary! Adjusted just right so the pads take up the 1/32" movement in the draw slide (60kg side mounts so not a stylish ) it's in the utility room so all good. New kitchen is WIP, face frame so not really enough depth to make plinth drawers much use.

Thattl work! The undermount runners would do the same tbh and flex enough to hit the floor.

@@BradshawJoinery yes but you loose too much depth in a kitchen plinth. Although your drawer/step was quite deep. Dad made in plinth drawers way way back in the mid sixties, think he was ahead of the curve on that one, with wooden runners. The units in the basement now, 🤔 might be time to repurpose it into a workbench or something.
Loving your videos after being recommend from Keith brown. I wish you did more voice over rather than text. Good work, thank you

Now then Oliver, may I ask what’s the details of your vacuum bag set up you’ve got there and where did you get it from? The valves on that look proper solid compared to some of the ones I’ve seen before 👍

What’s the clear adhesive you use in the caulk gun? I saw you use it on butcher block project also. Is it food safe? Very handy doing large jobs with caulk gun.
@BradshawJoinery
2 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't worry about food safe with adhesive, on e it's set it doesn't release any chemicals etc. The glue is PU glue I use various brands but currently rank the wood Weld from construction chemicals the best
Neat idea. Please put the thing you're building at the beginning of the video. I'm not interested in seeing how it was built if I don't even know what "it" is
@BradshawJoinery

Duly Noted! 👍👍
Do you show how this fits under cabinet or ARE the cabinets special made
@BradshawJoinery
2 жыл бұрын
It will fit under a normal cabinet, if you make the box so it slides in between the legs of the cabinet then cut the plinth and use that as the drawer front. Obviously check for services under the cabinets
Have you a link to the soft close draw/step mechanisms? Who supplies it? Thanks

Hi Jason, I bought from LDL online for the step part search Blum space step. You'll need a drawer of appropriate length (50mm longer I think) with tipon mechanism to have push to open. I used a legrabox ordered to size again from LDL .
Do you have a picture/video of it in situ?
