Genie Garage door openers

Fiber class garage doors from the early 70s I don't think the openers were original because how new they look I'm guessing they all were Manuel because of the third door not having a opener

In my old house in Kalamazoo, we had two garage doors like that. They are Frantz Filuma Garage doors made of fiberglass reinforced plastic with aluminum supports.

Hey there...I really enjoy your garage door opener videos. The fiberglass garage doors in your video were made by Frantz Manufacturing Company in Sterling, Illinois back in the 1960's and 1970's. This door type was called the Frantz Filuma Door. I have sent you a personal message to your youtube mail.

Liftmaster 1280 I grew up in Sterling, Illinois where the doors were manufactured and I can tell by looking at shape of the handle on both sides of the door. There were dozens and dozens of these doors in Sterling.

Yep these are frantz filuma doors, can tell from both the lock handle and the rib design, because other manufacturers fiberglass doors rib designs were always a little different, giving the brands their uniqueness. The frantz filuma door was a long running model, having first came out in 1959, and my frantz brochure from 1993 still has it offered, then a couple years later Wayne Dalton bought out frantz, and the filuma was discontinued. So all in all, the frantz filuma door had a long run of nearly 35 years...
