When we visited the Netherlands, we were also shocked to find out that most shops (at least in Friesland) are closed on Sundays. Thank you for this wonderful video! Looking forward to visiting Switzerland.

Yes it’s like that in most of the rest of the country too! A few cities have “koopzondag” (buying Sunday) every Sunday though, like Amersfoort :)

The "free ticket at baggage claim" thing did exist, but it was cancelled somewhere in 2021 or 2022. Now you need to indeed buy a ticket.

Very helpful video. One question: why didn't you get the free transport card at the hotel? I've read it includes the trip to/from the airport, also that you are supposed to get a message from the hotel 3 days before your trip with the link. The website for this card says that if you book through a site like booking, you should get it from there. I am going to test it in two weeks and see if they send me the card.

Yes, I did hear about this! We booked the hotel at the very last minute and we just didn’t ask for it. You definitely should try it. Please keep me posted and have a wonderful trip!

@@NewYorkerJuhui An update. In Geneva, I stayed at two hotels - one at the beginning of my trip and another one at the end. I reserved both via booking. The first hotel sent me a message (via Booking) 2 days before my trip with the link to click on to get my free travel card which I used to get to the hotel. There was also a machine which was supposed to give free 90 minute transport tickets in the baggage claim area, but it was out of tickets. I didn't need it because I had my card, but I'd imagine it is supposed to have tickets for the first day too. The second hotel failed to send me the card even though they sent me a message earlier saying that they would. I tried to reach them via booking, but they didn't reply. So, I bought a ticket. When I arrived, they said that because I reserved via booking they didn't have my email. They gave me the card then. I assume that because they are a larger chain, a different department handles reservation and the people at the reception have no clue about reservation. I'd imagine if I had called them directly and gave them my email, they would've emailed it to me.

Hi, great vid. Are bars and restaurants closed on sundays too? Or do they shut early? If so, what time? I'm going in december for 3 days I also want to try and find somewhere to go sledging for the day. Do you happen to know of anywhere?

Thanks! Bars and restaurants were mostly open when I was there on Sunday. I didn't get to explore the outdoors, unfortunately. I've seen many skiers in the airport though, so there must be great places for sledging nearby!

Hi. You mentioned about grande americano coffee in Geneva. I think it’s all over Europe we’re in Prague in October 2023, we payed €4 for small americano 250ml not even Starbucks just in a simple small coffee shop. Prices same in Vienna, Hungary and Germany that we went at the time
