Yeay! I donate 2 dollars to you every month for a while now and I encourage everybody that uses this channel and feels like it’s helpful to do the same! It’s less than a cup of coffee to me/us and the least we can do so you can keep going with these awesome videos. You deserve the best in life for sharing your tricks and helping us in our reviews. 🙏🏽🙏🏽 If my couple of dollars ever stop 🛑 you can assume I’m dead 😵 If it goes up, it means I matched the program I wanted. 🤓😇😘

variable expressivity = 1 gene, different phenotype in 2 or more people pleiotropy = 1 gene, different phenotype in one person mnemonic: pleiotropy has 1 word, variable expressivity has 2 words

You’ve been truly missed Dirty!
Thank you!
Thank you so muchhhh.. This is so helpful
Another term that tripped me up (even though it seems obvious) was "Dominant Negative" mutation... It's synonymous with an autosomal dominant disease, but worded super weird (i.e. the dominant mutation leading to a negative, which is the disorder). Maybe this is just a COMLEX thing, but I'm pretty sure I saw it on NBMEs.
Love you and your effort
When are you coming out with your own anki deck?
Life saver!🙌🏻
Thanks for the video. Could you please explain 'Loss of heterozygosity' and 'Dominant negative mutation'?
I felt attacked by the first 20 seconds LOL. much needed vid!!
Tysm

Honestly whenever I’m having trouble with a concept I rush to YT to see if there’s a dirty med video on it and when I do find it I sigh a sigh of relief lol 😂😂
Increased severity OR decreased age onset. Minor correction. They dont have to both together. Thanks for the awesome videosss :DDDDD Greatly appreciate ur work.
can I bypass BNB vids and rely solely on dirty for genetics?
can anyone please help me how to differentiate Pleiotropy vs Variable expressivity...since both start out with the same 1 gene issue---> multiple expressity.....

Pleiotropy is the mere presence of greater than 1 symptom Variable Expressivity is more about the spectrum of SEVERITY Think of Pleiotropy as number of symptoms, whereas Expressivity is the severity of symptoms

Pleiotropy is same person and variable expressively is in different persons

My understanding is that in Pleiotropy one gene can have completely different phenotypes, but in Variable expressivity same gene can have varying severity. Both terms are not mutually exclusive. Gene A can have phenotype X and phenotype Y (Pleiotropy), and phenotype X can be really severe in one person and very mild in another (variable expressivity).
literally facepalmed when I saw the terms haha...then you bring up PTSD lolol
Mosiacism is most important
非常棒
Loads of love for you dirty medicine
0:55 I would if my mom would change my bank account into checking!
