Great video Brandon! Ultramel was found to have another line that was not testing positive on the established test, so it was removed to work on that line before it’s added back.

That’s what I had heard through the rumor mill but didn’t want to speak on it specifically. It is really interesting that’s the case though. I still have hope he’s het. Lol

Same with albino. I actually talked with the gentleman who is setting up the tests for MM. He could use more samples of both ultramel and albino. Send to the Virginia address to help out. He also told me DG and OD are next.

I tested 4 snakes for het Pied last year. Being able to do that really accelerated my Pied projects. It was an interesting test of "het Pied markers" too. Before I sent in the sheds I made my guesses and went 4 for 4 guessing right. So there does seem to be something there with the markers.

With pieds the markers are definitely helpful

Those are some beautiful animals you have there Brandon! Looks like they eat very well. Never been big on Banana because of the spotting but that adult one you showed is nice! Great video!!

I think it’s the combination of lesser and Fire. When she was a baby she looked axanthic it was really something I’ll find a pic and send it to ya it’s a cool look. She also hasn’t gained a single spot. Really unique so hoping this season I make a banana lesser Fire clown girl to hold onto. They get their bellies full some def seem to grow faster than others for sure.

If you get bit don’t pull away you can do more damage not just to you but also the animal besides it doesn’t hurt that bad

Great vid! Do they have testing for boas Brandon?
@NixonReptiles
Жыл бұрын
Not that I’m aware of. From a podcast they did a while back they said it’s around 5k plus to do the research for a gene. I’m sure there is a possibility for them to do boas but they need sheds from the gene for them to isolate it. Can find RGI on the web with the email maybe they can get started I’m sure there would be a market.

What's your opinion about the possibility that theres few lines of some recessives so it would be possible to reveive a negative test even if the snake is het ? As Canadians I dont think we will have it soon here but most of my recessives arent tested atm anyway hope it change in the future !

It definitely complicates things that’s for sure. The ones that most will utilize anyhow I feel are clown and pied so those seem super stable. There are always kinks that complicate things but overall I think it’s good. I would be curious to know (and this how these things are found out) if my Ultramel are the type they can test for currently or if it’s the other line. Lol

I want to say once they received the sheds about 3 weeks.
