With more and more desperate "believers" its getting younger and younger.. At least where i come from priests and politicians are so filthy rich that common people with PHDs and other college degrees have to flee to US or EU to get themselves piece of bread and decent life. Our churches are covered with gold, both outside and inside, services are filled with hate speech, homophobia, xenophobia and scientophobia especially. Such a fucked up place and nothing has been changing for the past thirty years or so. Both my parents died aged sixty and I just cant wait to leave this place of absolute horror.

From a purely musical perspective, this is a great rock and roll song - really moves.

If you asked me before hearing this for the first time, I wouldn't have believed that it could be possible to make an extremely catchy song, that I unironically would listen to any day of the week that is at the same time basically a hit-piece on something as odd and specific as televangelists. Genesis: "Hold my beer."

I was 11 when this jewel came out. My parents had good taste in music and believed in telling it like it is, so I listened to Genesis right along with them. I'm thankful for that. Learned a lot of important truths, early on. Like all that bs this song calls out. Also: "Get on your knees and start paying." Genius writing, right there.

When I was a kid, I saw an episode of the X-Files which involved a televangelist, and I remember thinking it was the most surreal thing I've ever seen since I didn't realize televangelism was an actual thing, as I was born in Europe. Eventually learning more about televangelist was one of the very first times in my life where I started losing faith in the average intellect of people on earth.

As a guitarist in charismatic church I can tell you this is 100% true the song is an absolute banger btw just as Ghost version is.

Jesus knows you, and He doesn't need any money. Great song and great message.

Religion generally is in massive decline across the Western world! True! Most christians are not happy with these scammers, it gives the religion a faul taste. I can know it, I was a christian. (I was once a christian but other happenings made me searching for truth, not that I gave it up just after hearing a song...)

Is hilarious and it shows with a great sense of irony and humour the truth of people who use Jesus to get money and become rich. I can,t find a better way to condem injustice that with sense of humour. And music. So great.
