I love the concepts showcased in this vehicle. Genesis is doing something big.

Beautiful work! Congrats to the entire team. 1. Genesis needs a large SUV, sometging that can compete with the likes of a LR Range Rover, Infiniti QX80, MB GLS, not just in luxury but most importantly in off road capabilities. 2. The design concept is elegant and simple. Please keep it that way, don't go the Lexus route as their designs look as if someone swallowed and regurgitated razor blades. 3. The UX controls are absolutely awesome! LOVE the way the a/c temp is controlled, not a new idea but the implementation and visuals are beautiful. The mix of materials and shales is very reminiscent of Volvo products. This is what Kia needs to be doing with the Telluride and they are falling asleep at the wheel.

Haha, bullet number 2, but a very true statement. I cant wait to test drive both the Genesis and Lincoln Aviator since both are my top choices to upgrade to.

Genesis is going to take the automotive world by storm. I can't wait for the Genesis Coupe!

Thanks! So an odd FYI . . . Almost minutes after we wrapped shooting, they started putting up those glass barriers. Can't say that I am surprised as all car companies do this with high value concept cars. I like the innovative approach to luxury design on the SUV! It appear to be an imperial upgrade to the Bentley Bentaga... I like the Star Trek type swiping of the Navigation and climate controls; it's the SUV for a new generation! I am looking forward to the two door coupe!!

Ok I an convinced that this car was made for me. The diamond grill for me. Diamonds is my birthstone. The G Matrix , well G is the first initial of my maiden name. Those rich clay tones and the concept of elegance and athletic is Me. Loveeeeee

This is like NOTHING else on the market. Absolutely no competition. This is my year for a new vehicle. Will this baby be available for my review and purchase? I love the dash, the hvac ducts and the armrest controls. To me, they have '50 retro look where controls are integrated into the dash. I absolutely adore this buggy.

I loved the concepts of touch and swipe in the UI very thoughtful and clever use of space by treating the other buttons as gesture space - really clever - Kudos to Karen. Also impressed by how coherent the design was. I hope the production car can deliver on much of the promise of the show car. Informative and entertaining - well done

The exterior design is quite good. Love the curves and lines that make it very sporty and at the same time elegant. Interior is okay. Not too Crazy about the UX control. Hate to have to look away from the front , and trying to figure out what temp I have swiped it to.

Looks great, but I just think that Genesis and Hyundai really needs to find its design language that has consistent themes throughout all their vehicles. Perhaps the grill shape would be a great way to say "G E N E S I S"

I normally don't like crossovers/suvs but I really like this. Love the interior and the fitted luggage. Ux could be nice with some haptic feedback. Don't let the accountants get their hands on it.

The whole thing is phenomenal, but, Karen, the interior is just outstanding. The look & function of the controls is innovative & impressive! If you build this, they will come!

Great car! I definitely will consider it when it comes to production (I am a Merc fan and I am driving it for my 4th Merc car and this may be the first Genesis I will own) but please keep as much as what we see in here for the production version. To answer Karen's ques, the slider control / UX is great and I love it! And I love the G-Matrix stuffs. Good job for the whole design of the car!

Wow; I love everything about it specially the ux, pillars, cargo area, air vents and gear shifter. Hopefully they turn to trend setters by being first to have the production version at least 90, 95 percent of everything from this concept.

Very elegant SUV, I own the G80 top of the line and it feels great while driving it, can't wait how this one will feel! I have only one concern, why isn't a 5 or 7 passenger SUV, I saw you guys have the divider coming from the front, I think it looks very nice, but in my opinion I rather have an extra sit. Other than that, its fantastic!

Time to snap out of it and wake up to smell the coffee. Long time former Benz owner here...

iunlock guru Yes Korean, Japanese and American cars are all better than European cars now.

I would like to see genesis explore a spacious Sportback GT like the kia stinger. Also, the design on the exterior, and in particular the interior of the GV80 concept is absolutely stunning. I love the use of that crosshatch fabric. It's really different, and it works beautifully. Quite a welcome departure from what all the other automakers are doing. I think the UX looks like it would work quite well, but it would need some additional graphics to guide the user since it may not be immediately intuitive.

can you make the pillars out the bulletproof glass so the pillars become invisible and the driver can have 360° vision of the road.

Answers to the team in order they were asked: porper 2 door coupe sports car, love the direction going forward, hard to say without using it but having to explain it to a guy who uses cars for his job isn't a great indicator maybe just use a control knob like the competition.

Beautiful design direction, awesome dash/console design and controls, swipe up/down looks futuristic and cool. I’d gladly trade my 2015 Genesis for this SUV in the near future.

I can't wait till they redesign that logo.

We are in 2019 now it's about time for genesis to present us with a SUV a very athletic elegant sporty midsize SUV with a very potient engine

Please make sure that someone 5' tall has visibility over the dash and that there is not a big blind spot. We have a 2018 G80 and love it and I will want a new SUV by the time this comes out.

All of it is well done, especially Karen's interior[the UX is original/the native music instrument idea usage is beautiful] : i want to see the G70 near 100% production[with a diesel].

I have my G80 and sorry t say, so many issues with software, need to find a better QA team.., back camera failed many times, blind spot alert etc.but in general i love it..

Karen is a very talented designer, I love her work on the Concept. Q1\ A large full size sedan. Q2\ The sliders are very cool, could be your next party trick. Q3\ The concept is cool, a bit over the top with the G-Matrix patterns. The headlights are very cool, the production model must have them.

I would love to see genesis do some electric models. Not a gasoline vehicle with a power-train swap but something like the GV80 designed to be an EV from the beginning as purpose designed EVs generally have better space utilization.

This reminds me so much of the Cadillac brand. The touch sensitive interface with haptic feedback? That’s soo Cadillac CUE-esque. The textile material inside the vehicle is just like the high end woven wool material in the Cadillac Escala concept. The back of the front captain seats where the rear entertainment screens are looks nearly identical to the design of the Cadillac Escala concept’s rear entertainment screen and seat design. The door handles also inspired by American companies Cadillac Escala concept and Tesla production models. The designer bags in the rear of the vehicle, it’s just like the Cadillac Escala concept. Very impressive. I like the design generally, though not too sure of the grill and the design of the wheels. In my view they will look good but can't be kept clean easily. I also don't like the quad headlights (just a personal preference) but will go for the tail lights. With the interior, the cross-stitch in my opinion might not age well. Secondly, the width of the bridge can be thinner to give it a more elegant style. Can the team give us a variety of seat options for the production as the 4 seater may not sell as much as a 5, 6 or 7 seats. Is the team planning on a truck? Lastly, as a die hard Hyundai/Kia/Genesis I would like to suggest that the team consider giving us a GV 70 and 90 concepts.

Brad: i wanna see G70 concept car! John: I LOVE THE DESIGN DIRECTION (interior and exterior).....EXCEPT for the FRONT END....please....it needs to be redesigned. that grill is not good at all. Karen: i think the slider is an innovative design and its something id have to try for myself to see how useful it is. but it looks very cool :).

Those Diamond exterior design themes will be the owners worst cleaning nightmare if it gets to real world production.

I love what Hyundai is doing, buuuuuuuut if they dont bring back the Genesis coupe, I am going to lose my mind

not feeling the back seat only allowing 2 people...other than that...I like it a lot...hopefully they make a 7 passenger SUV soon after this one.

yes I feel the same way. the back seat needs to seat 3 people.

Hyundai should make a large convertible/coupe to compete with the BMW 6 series. It would give them a lot of space to play with concept ideas. I really hope the new GV80 looks similar to this, this is solid competition for the Range Rover in the looks department.

Team, I would like to see you design a purpose built public taxi that doesn't have swinging doors, our current vehicles are a danger to cyclist and vehicles running into a passenger swinging door. The passenger walks away and drivers are left with dealing with the accident it caused and it's not the driver who caused it but hast deal with it at his costs. We need your help.

Iconic design!! Now as for the ghastly looking bentayga....just shoo away please, some real eye candy here. Forget about all those 0-60 boy racer nonsense and give it even more graceful motion with the some sensible powertrain......abit like what the Roll Royce does

The herringbone material looks cheap and tacky IMHO. The tech stuff is cool but it doesn't look very user friendly or ergonomic. Overall, nicely done but I like natural durable materials like wood. Don't be afraid of the wood.

I hope they work out the names I wish I could roll my eyes. Change the Grill because, from more oblique angles to the eye it looks hideous... Get rid fo the Secondary Floating Bar in the grill, and Bring down the Genesis embargo to the Center making it the Eye piece and part of the radar system so it would give a more premium feel of an Mercedes' AMG for-front look and not an ugly Acura MDX grill shape.. Let's don't let Genesis turn into "Today's Acura" already before they start truly selling.. Where is peter?

This car gives me a distinctive feel of watching porn, but the beautiful and divine one. It not only turns you on, but shed you in tears wonder who on earth designed it. If the production can match more than 90% of the concept car, MB and BMW literally can go screw themselves. I believe when the mechanical part catches up, a new reign will start. And also, I hate people say something something new car design or bran is gonna be the new lexus. I hate lexus, it looks like shit interior, and my friend who got an all new lexus ES350 got a brake failure on highway that almost killed him and his fiance.

The headlamps and grill is a straight rip from Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6. Get some originality, Hyundai.

SanDiegoInnOut no it's not, and this is not a "hyundai" this is a Genesis Motors GV80.

Man that bridge in the interior is terrible, it limits the spacing in the car. Doubt that'll make it to production but the exterior looks really good. The dashboard extending across to the passenger side is suspect as well. Overall, congrats Genesis!
