The Bible mentions the mans nakedness as also the wifes when it it teaching about not sleeping with your mother. It is very possible Ham slept with his mother and Caanan was the result of that sin, hence why the curse was on Caanan

My mom divorced my dad when she was pregnant because he punched her stomach to try and kill me. Never met my dad really. My mom is on her 4th marriage and was lesbian most of her life and I was savagely attacked for it on multiple occasions. Now she is on her 4th marriage to a devout muslim man. Oh Lord how I deserve this life for my due payment for my own sin on this earth. How I loath myself if I am without Christ.

Maybe study Genesis more. Is it possible his father's nakedness was his wife? Who is canans mother? Could it be Noah's wife?

What is the difference between the qualifications for a pastor and deacon regarding wine? For the bishop it says "not given to wine" and for the deacon it says, " not given to much wine." At the very least, it appears that there is a quantitative difference between "wine" and "much wine."

Also applies in the marriage. And between brothers and sisters

"An act of your will" ??? How so ? Isn't it the will of sovereign God that is at work when it comes to the saving of souls ? "No one can come to me unless the Father draws him." Jesus said. And also: "You did not choose Me, I chose you." ...and also: "No one has ever sought God." ...it is sovereign God that draws those that He chose before the foundation of the world to Himself through Jesus Christ. Not one of them shall perish, but live forevermore. Amazing grace. All glory to God. Amen.

And yet there's so many places that are "Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son." and “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved-you and your household.” and "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him." Isiah 43:10 seems to marry it all together beautifully: “You are my witnesses,” declares the LORD, “and my servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. We are chosen to believe. It's hard for me to fathom _how_ that works, but of course God is bigger than my perceptions. LOL. I don't know how the computer I'm working on works, either, and it's from the mind of man. Sorry, I didn't have much to add to your comment -- I just thought of the flip side of the same coin, and how magnificently other-worldly God is, to work in ways far beyond human ways.

You have all the right to voice your views and opinions. “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved-you and your household.” .....no one can believe in Jesus (saving faith) of themselves. It must be given from Above. It is a gift from sovereign God. Totally undeserved. And so all glory belongs to Him. Saving(biblical) faith does not originate in fallen man, enemies of God, dead in their trespasses and sins, as Scripture tells us. And yes, God works in mysterious way. His wisdom is beyond our grasp.

There are theories about this but it requires reading a lot more into the text that simply isn't there. Incest elsewhere in the Bible is clearly stated and if it were the case here I don't see why God wouldn't have simply said so.

It seems as if Ham did something to Noah based on this verse, might’ve been something sexual: Genesis 9:24 KJV [24] And Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done unto him.

I have heard presentations on how before the flood, conditions of the atmosphere and lack of solar and cosmic radiation may have caused the fermentation of wine to not be able to occur. This would put the grape juice of Noah in the category of ' first time events '. Noah may have never grown grapes or made any grape juice before, he may have always gotten it from others before the flood. After the flood, the world and conditions changed a lot as well as those other people not being around anymore to supply him. Noah BECAME an husbandman ( grower ) and had to try growing his own vineyard and making his own wine ( juice ). When he drank a bunch one day that had been around in containers for awhile and tasted extra special for the first time in 600 years he got falling - down drunk. Teacher here does a nice job with this lesson but he makes it sound like all wine from the beginning of time to the present has 16% alcohol content. I once attended a church that adopted the belief that all the wine in the Bible was Welch's grape juice. ( 0% alcohol ) ( and that's just what they called it )

Hello from an Australian living in Indonesia. It ia Oct 2023. All the troubles in the world have revealed some interesting facts. In relation to Noahs curse on Canaan. I watched a video on Philistine vs Palestinian. Of the people who were tested living in the area the Arabs and jews shared a 50% DNA match with Canaanites. Canaanite DNA is still strong and detectable. I found this interesting with this lecture.

What is nakedness of your Father. Leviticus 18; 7-8 Will tell you. Read!!!

Why keep making blind mistakes when ones reads??? What does the scripture say, as opposed to suspicion and personal supposition that's not mentioned or implied. God calls out sin as sin, but never use suspicion as a means to teach His righteousness.

Noah could have been shown what happened by God. God works by revelation. That is the most probable thing, imo.

Why would a Christian want alcohol? Ancient times had poor water, so they drank weak nonalcoholic wine!

Wine is the same word used for alcoholic wine and nonalcoholic wine (grape juice). If you think Jesus made vats of alcoholic wine, please study the subject a little more.

Ham had DISRESPECT for his dad, a sin. Abraham had faith passed down from Noah. Nimrod was pagan, passed down from the devil worshipoer Ham, like Eve before the flood.

There are numerous verses that encourage people to stay away from drinking alcohol (Leviticus 10:9; Numbers 6:3; Deuteronomy 14:26; 29:6; Judges 13:4,7,14; 1 Samuel 1:15; Proverbs 20 :1; 31:4,6; Isaiah 5:11,22; 24:9; 28:7; 29:9; 56:12; Micah 2:11; Luke 1:15). In light of these verses, it would be extremely difficult for any Christian to claim that consuming alcoholic beverages brings glory to God (1 Corinthians 10:31). Therefore for all those who believe that the Bible allows moderate alcohol, repent of this heresy and believe in the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ as it is revealed by the Holy Spirit! May the Lord Jesus Christ bless you with repentance and faith!

Fransikajohn9005, racism is cursing a whole group for the behaviour of some . I read your whole post and came to the evident conclusion that the racist is YOU. Apparently you yourself greatly suffered from racism which made you bitter. You are misusing the Word of God to express your bitterness. It is your flesh talking here and not the Holy Spirit. May our Lord Jesus lead you to repentance thus permitting Him to give you a new heart.

I feel sorry for this congreagation to have a not so bright pastor.
