Genesis #6 - Why Did God Flood the Earth but Save Noah?

Ойын-сауық

In this packed sermon covering a large chunk of text (Genesis 5:1-7:1), Pastor Mark preaches on the fact that God is good and people are bad, that human progress is external not internal, and that a faith-filled, yet still sinful, family can be used mightily by God.

    Pastor, the Bible says God made male and female before he even makes a female body. How do you interpret that? Is that the reason why only a man and a woman can be one flesh aka married? Because we were once one actual flesh?

    The so-called Pastor won't answer you so I will. Genesis 1 says all creation produce after their own kind, that is God's design for reproduction (male/female). The previous sentence of God's truth should cancel out everything the pastor in this video talks about (angels and women are not the same kind and cannot procreate). God made man and woman so that together they can be fruitful and multiply. That is the greatest joy in the natural world when God's instructions are followed. One man & one woman, not one man and 40 women, or one woman and one woman etc. The 'one flesh' comment infers that this marriage should not be severed, but it also represents Christians being the bride of Christ. The Revelation story of the marriage supper of the lamb is a beautiful scene of Christians being celebrated for uniting with Christ forever, never to be separated and we will be like Him and we will be 'ONE' with Him.

    What you are teaching is exactly what Paul and Peter warned would happen if we entertained Jewish myths and fables. 1 Timothy 1:4, 4:7, 2 Timothy 4:4, Titus 1:4, 2 Peter1:16-21, 2:1-2. The doctrine of angels (fallen) having marriages with women is nothing more than speculation derived from the Book of Enoch, and it has no Biblical support whatsoever, none. Think about it, this doctrine mocks the sovereignty of God and is a direct attack on the Deity of Christ. It was the angel Gabreil that visited Mary and told her she would conceive. There is nothing in the context of Genesis 4 and 5 that even hints toward the idea of angels marrying women. We don't even know if angels are males or if they can distinguish between male and female humans. Paul did say that women were to wear a covering because of the angels. That's a strange thing to say unless angels can't tell a difference, then it makes total sense. There is nothing in the Law regarding men or women having sexual relationships with spiritual beings. If we ignore the context of chapters 4-5 (lineages of Cain and Seth) and interject angels or demons into the story we are misusing the Bible. One of these doctrines is wrong and is a flat out lie, one is the truth. Teaching a doctrine that is based only on speculation is a slippery slope that creates division and confusion. From Genesis 6 to 2 Corinthians 6:14 we are taught over and over that believers should NEVER marry unbelievers and the Bible gives us the explicit consequences of disobeying that command. Here are just a few verses that support this. Genesis 24:40, Exodus 34:16, Deuteronomy 7:3-6, Joshua 23:12-13, 1 Kings 11:1-9, Ezra 9:2, Nehemiah 10:30, 13:25-27, Malachi 2:11. In the book of Nehemiah, the men of Israel were literally terrified that the Lord was about to completely destroy them because they married pagan women. We know from Scripture that Cain's family was banished to wander the face of the earth but there is clear evidence that the line of Cain and the line of Seth began to intermarry. Both lineages shared the same names for their sons. There were two Enoch's, two Lamech's, and if you're using the Septuagint there were two Mathusala's. What are the odds of godly men and women using the same names as the ungodly unless they began to dwell together or marry? Matthew 13:38 The field is the world, the good seeds are the sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the wicked one. The Bible teaches us that the sons of God are the lineage that Jesus came through and it is verified in Luke 3. All of these men were born in the image of Adam who was created in the image of God. Jesus said Cain was of that wicked one the Devil. When Cain was born Eve said I have gotten a man from the Lord. When Seth was born, he was called a son in the image of his father. The phrase sons of God in Genesis 6 refer to the sons from Adam to Noah. It was at the birth of Seth that men began to call upon the name of the Lord or some translations say they were called by the name of the Lord. Preachers say that the sons of God in Genesis 6 had to be angels because Job 1:6, 2:1, and 38:7 refers to angels, but the phrase sons of God was not used in the book of Job until the Masoretic Hebrew Text was written. In the Septuagint it simply said angels of God and Job 38:7 has an entirely different meaning if you read it from the Septuagint. Job 38:7 (Sept.) When the stars were made, all my angels praised me with a loud voice. The Masoretic text came one thousand years after the time of Jesus and after the New Testament. The fact that the book of Job did not call angels sons of God should be noted but also Deuteronomy 32:8 and 43 should be considered as well. Deuteronomy 32:8 (Sept.) When the Most High divided the nations, when he separated the sons of Adam, he set the bounds of the nation's according to the number of the angels of God. 32:43 Rejoice, ye heavens, with him, and let all the angels of God worship him; rejoice ye Gentiles, with his people, and let all the sons of God strengthen themselves in him; for he will avenge the blood of his sons, and he will render vengeance, and recompense justice to his enemies, and will reward them that hate him; and the Lord shall purge the land of his people. Which text is the more accurate one, the Septuagint whose translators would have had no bias against Jesus because it was translated before His birth, or would it be the Masoretic Text written by Jewish Scribes who rejected Jesus as the Messiah. Are the Sons of God believers? Genesis 6:2,4 Exodus 4:22-23, Deuteronomy 14:1, Isaiah 49:17, Hosea 1:10, Matthew 5:9, John 1:12, Romans 8:14, 16, 9:26, Galatians 3:26 1 John 3:1 all agree together that they were men and not angels? We don't know what the older Hebrew manuscripts written before the Septuagint said regarding the scriptures in Job 1, 2, and 38 because they don't exist anymore but if they did call angels sons of God what do we do with Hebrews 1:1-14 because these verses clearly say that God has never called an angel his son. Kind of a strange thing to say unless Hebrews was written after the Book of Enoch, but I don't know this. Jesus said angels never marry or are given in marriage. Was He referring to only heavenly angels as some dare to suggest? Highly doubtful. Could God really be that confused? Were the daughters of men referring to unbelieving women? If not, who were the daughters of the land in Gen 27:46, or the daughters of the uncircumcised in 2 Samuel 1:20, or the daughters of a strange god, Ezra 10:2, Malachi 2:11? Did these titles just mean they were human women, or did it mean they were pagan unbelieving women who would destroy a believing man's relationship with God. The Lord did not destroy the world because of fallen angels or the Nephilim who were nothing more than men with human fathers, He destroyed the world because of the wickedness and violence that began with Cain and was passed down through his daughters turning away the hearts of the men who called on the name of the Lord. Out of all the millions possibly billions of people on the earth up to the time of the flood only twenty-seven people were named in the first 6 chapters of Genesis, three of them amazingly were women from the line of Cain. Lamech's two wives Adah and Zillah, and Zillah's daughter Naamah. The name Adah in Hebrew means beautiful, adorned, ornament. This name was associated with women who wore jewelry and painted their eyes to look more attractive. This name also referred to the apostasy of Israel or to those who would not obey God. 2 Kings 9:39, Jeremiah 4:30, Ezekeil 23:40. King Saul (2 Samuel 1:24) had the daughters of Israel adorn themselves with ornaments of gold (Adah). Esau like Lamech took two wives, one was named Adah. Naamah's name means beautiful or pleasant to look at. The sons of God saw the daughters of men and they were beautiful to look at. Jesus said before He comes back that the days would once again be like the days of Noah. I believe we are seeing this play out before our eyes but where is the Nephilim? Or were the giants simply men with fame and greatness because if that's the case think of all the movie stars that are worshipped today. Think of all the professional athletes that are worshipped. Maybe these are the giants of our day, the Nimrods and Goliaths? I believe we will all soon find out. God Bless

    @josephscala6707 asked, "Why did God kill all men, women, children and innocent animals? Sounds like murder to me." It is called 'apostasy', God made man for Himself, and man was made in the image and likeness of God. In the garden God would walk with Adam in the cool of the day, and they had such a close bond that He recreated the animals in the garden and had Adam name all the animals. But that special relationship was broken when Adam & Eve rejected God and betrayed Him. When we get to the 7th generation we have Cain's (1st born & 1st murderer) lineage and Lamech (1st mass murderer & 1st polygamist). However, the 7th generation from Adam's son Seth's lineage (then men began to call upon the name of the Lord Gen 4:26) we have Godly Enoch that was raptured by God and there is a clear difference between the families of Cain & Seth (carnality vs Godliness). In Gen 6 those that were following God were attracted to the pretty but carnal women of Cain's line and they intermarried and rejected God and turned to wickedness and idolatry. Then wickedness spread so much that only Noah was left as a Godly man. God was grieved in His heart for man had rejected Him again, but the wickedness was so infectious that God had to start over or else nobody could ever have life eternal with Him again. So, God flooded the world and as men again began to multiply He gave us multiple warnings of what we should not do, here is just one example: ~ Deuteronomy 7:3-4; “Furthermore, you shall not intermarry with them; you shall not give your daughters to their sons, nor shall you take their daughters for your sons. For they will turn your sons away from following Me to serve other gods; then the anger of the LORD will be kindled against you, and He will quickly destroy you.

    Okay let's correct the false teaching of Job 38. Genesis 6 sons of God (bene-ha-Elohim) is slightly different than Job 38 sons of God (bene Elohim). Job 38 is NOT an accurate historical account of the creation of earth. This is more of a symbolic poetic allegory, unless you believe the earth is actually supported by a physical foundation and cornerstone. When there is heavy symbolism, look for Jesus. Let's break it down: ~ Job 38:6-7; Or who ‘LAID’ its ‘cornerstone’? 'WHEN' the morning stars sang together and all the sons of God shouted for joy? ~ What is the 'cornerstone' or who is the ‘cornerstone’? JESUS ~ 'WHEN' was the 'cornerstone' laid? AT PENTECOST WHEN THE CHURCH BEGAN. ~ Isaiah 28:16; "Therefore thus says the Lord GOD, “Behold, I am 'LAYING' in Zion a stone, a tested stone, A costly ‘CORNERSTONE’ for the foundation, firmly placed. He who believes in it will not be disturbed." ~ Zachariah 10:3-4; "For the LORD of hosts has visited His flock, the house of Judah and will make them like His majestic horse in battle. From them 'WILL COME' the ‘CORNERSTONE’. ~ Who are the morning stars? ANGELS ~ Revelation 1:20; “As for the mystery of the seven stars which you saw in My right hand, and the seven golden lampstands: the seven ‘STARS ARE ANGELS’ of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands are the seven churches." ~ Who are the sons of God shouted for joy? GODLY PEOPLE A word search in the Bible for ‘shout for joy, shouted for joy, shouting for joy’ reveals: people 32 times, nature (hills, meadows trees etc.) 2 times and angels shouting for joy 0 times (if Job 38 is angels, then that would be angels 1, people 31, nature 2). ~ So, what is the difference between Gen 6, Job 1 & 2 sons of God (bene-ha-Elohim) and Job 38 (bene Elohim)? This is the difference of Godly people on earth that have the Holy Spirit come upon them, and Godly people that now have the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Here is God's word telling us who are the 'sons of God': ~ Romans 8:14; "For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons and daughters of God." We might as well break down Job 1 & 2 as well because this is also falsely considered to be angels. ~ Job 1: 3-5; When the days of feasting had completed their cycle, Job would send and 'CONSECRATE' them (Job's sons), rising up early in the morning and offering burnt offerings according to the number of them all; for Job said, “Perhaps my sons have sinned and cursed God in their hearts.” Thus, Job did continually. Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came among them. The LORD said to Satan, “From where do you come?” Then Satan answered the LORD and said, “From roaming about on the earth and walking around on it.” ~ Job and his sons (Godly men 'sons of God') are 'CONSECRATED', presenting themselves before God with burnt offerings (sacrifices) for forgiveness of sin. Satan was among them on earth. God asked Satan and he said he was on earth. The next four verses Satan describes Job’s hedge of protection, his blessings and riches etc. Satan has been there with Job. ~ This isn't angels presenting themselves to God in heaven, this is Job on earth, with his sons called ‘sons of God’. Consecrate: to induct a person into permanent office with a religious rite i.e. to ordain the office of Bishop. To make or declare sacred, to devote irrevocably to the worship of God by a solemn ceremony. Paul warns us of these messages in this time: ~2 Timothy 4:3-4; "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths." ~ Titus 1: 13-14; "For this reason reprove them severely so that they may be sound in the faith, not paying attention to Jewish myths and commandments of men who turn away from the truth." God Bless and LOOK UP!

    Where did the giants in the Bible that they fought come from

  • @larrymoore2571

    @larrymoore2571

    9 ай бұрын

    @@keithenbanks9464 Hi Keith, God is perfectly capable of creating mighty men like Samson the Nazarite for His glory and for the good of His people. It also is no mistake that He created large men like Goliath that was defeated by a boy with a slingshot (and God's help). This rallied the Israelites that previously were shaking in their boots (sandals) with fear. These scenarios as well as Gen 6 requires no angels or wild speculation, the answers are right there in the text. God creates these mismatches so that His people will give Him the glory, such as Gideon getting ready to battle against the Midianites and Amalekites (32,000 men) and God reduces Gideon's army to only 300 old boomers that can barely lean over to drink water. That requires each warrior to stay alive and kill 106 men or more. That also puts the fear of the one true God in the minds of His adversaries. Who or what are the sons of God? Genesis 6:3 reveals the identity of the sons of God in Gen 6:2. ~ Genesis 6; (2) the sons of God saw that the daughters of man were attractive. And they took as their wives any they chose. (3) Then the LORD said, “My 'SPIRIT' shall not 'ABIDE' in 'MAN' forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years.” ~ Was God's Spirit 'abiding' 'IN MAN' then? YES, that is why God threatens to remove His Spirit. Again, Who or what are the sons of God? ~ Romans 8:14; For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. Remember the Nephilim (Hebrew definition: fallen ones), ~ Psalm 53:2-3; “God looks down from heaven on the children of man to see if there are any who understand, who seek after God. They have all ‘FALLEN AWAY’; together they have become corrupt; there is none who does good, not even one.” So what caused God's people that had begun to call upon the name of the Lord (Gen 4:26) to turn to evil and become wicked? This is what God warns about continually: ~ Deuteronomy 7:3-4; "Furthermore, you shall not intermarry with them; you shall not give your daughters to their sons, nor shall you take their daughters for your sons. For they will turn your sons away from following Me to serve other gods; Then the anger of the Lord will be kindled against you, and He will quickly destroy you." I have a tendency to ramble on so I will leave it here friend. God Bless and Look Up
