That's also part of the reason on why he could mango during his puff reign, m2k's mind set was that puff was broken, in this match he was all like "oh crap, he's coming back, dammit." His strategy starts to worsen

Adaptation. Mew2King's dash attack approaches got more desperate as Armada responded better to them and was more prepared, and he's really good at making it seem like hitting him is a bad idea. Mew2King started fishing more as victory got close.

Armada's my favorite smasher, and I'm super glad he won, but damn... Seeing the anger and passion in Mew2King during Game 5... You could tell he was upset. You could tell he wanted this so bad. Genuinely feel bad for him... He deserved better than 3rd.

When I was watching this live, I honestly thought M2K was gonna win after that first game. Fountain of Crushed Dreams was true to its name I suppose.

My heart never hurt so bad.

This is the only time Melee has made me angry

your not the only one . i've been waiting for a performance in a super major from m2k. he outplayed him but it just wasn't enough. Then when mango got bodied by armada. i was like well m2k had the best shot

Mat7 umm...before armada m2k didn't lose to peach primarily because he was so good at the Marth vs peach having experience with the MU against players like Vidjo and Cort.

Great set! Mew2King has improved so much in this mtachup in the past year. Armada is still the best at these long, exhausting sets though.

Junior Nunez He wasn't outplaying Armada when it counted. Armada was way more consistent and composed in the clutchest moments. Like look how nervously M2K was playing in the last stock game on Stadium when he had a lead.

This set was a couple hits in game 2 from being a clean 3-0. the m2k fragility is so real. Armada was looking out of answers when m2k was in the zone.

M2K was literally a stock away from potentially taking Genesis 4. He wouldve been waiting in Grands for either Mango, Armada or Hbox. And judging by how on point Jason was playing this tournament, none of those 3 couldve beatin him in 2 straight best of 5 sets. Im calling it, this is M2K's year.

If M2k takes this experience and levels up a bit his mental fortitude, he will become the best. And i hope he can do it. Just hold on a little further Jason

Ms HeartAttract it's "tradition" for Armada and Mango to play in Grand finals for every Genesis tournament. it's plot armor for Armada to beat m2k because Armada had to meet Mango in Grand finals again

So far every Genesis Grand Finals was Armada vs Mango with Armada in winners and Mango in losers. But both G3 and G4 were very close to stopping this tradition with for instance this set where Armada was almost send to losers finals. Hence why people say Armada and Mango have plot armor to both make it into Grand Finals.

[Match Spoilers below] I'm gonna go against the grain here...this set didn't irritate me as much as I thought it would. First of all, it's hard to be mad at a Peach doing well compared to like, Fox player #234082. Second, I think there's something to the "plot armor" theory but I honestly didn't see the systematic outplaying by M2K that people were talking about, at least not to the point where I feel like a deserved victory was cheesed away from him by Peach RNG. Early in the set yeah, M2K was playing surgical, but as the set wore on it seemed like he became impatient or at least lost some of the sheen from his play that he had in games 1-3. Armada was in in mentally to the end, and honestly I think he started outplaying M2K in games 3-5 just as much as M2K was in games 1-3. I don't really see much reason to be angry except for the whole "Armada wins again zzz." This was a great set and both players put on a show.

Everybody here is talking about how they're so mad and they wanted M2K to win. Am I really the only one who feels the exact opposite and was really hyped about keeping the GF dream alive?

As usual M2K looks liker he's winning the majority of the set but then ends up getting Armada'd and loses at the last second. It happens every time but it still doesn't stop hurting
