General Motors-Grand Rapids Stamping Operations
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
This video shows the metal stamping process; basically what the steel looks like coming into the plant and, after various metal stamping operations, what it looks like when it leaves the plant and is sent out to General Motors assembly plants.
This plant made hoods, roofs, quarter panels, doors; basically all exterior metal for most of GM's North American vehicles.
Unfortunately, this Grand Rapids GM facility was closed in 2009 due to the poor economy.

You know your doing serious production when you have a train running through your building :) Cool video!
Such eerie music. A stamping press is pleasant music to the ears, the faster the better.
Excellent video. Thanks for the sharing!
Thanks for the video! In today's culture people have forgotten where "things" come from, how Americans work to build the life we take for granted.

+detroitbluesguy Thanks a lot!
Cool, I wonder how much it would cost to build a press for all the body panels in a 1940's or 50's pickup.
nice!
Want to work there!!!!

+Ali Etezadkhah It's pretty common for manufacturing plants in the US not to use hard hats. Ear plugs and safety glasses are most likely to be mandatory, while gloves are used depending on the job.
All those robots working hard. Not caring about race. Or men are making more money than me. Wish humans were more like this. Robots lives matter
Guess the robots were not buying cars so sales slowed.
