I started singing this for no reason right now. Jumped on google, searched the lyrics and noticed this. Thank you for posting it.

this song was kind of personal to me, cause in 1986 i was 10 years old and my parents was on that shit, then i lost a family member from an overdose on christmas that same year. my memories of it are so vivid. and the whole time this was going on, this song was in heavy rotation. i still remember riding with my dad while he was gettin a rock whilw this song was playing, almost felt like i was in a movie

I understand completely; I had the same experience.

I ran disco in the days when this song was HOT, but back then I was only smokin' weed. I said I would never do crack, then one cold Xmas night.... Oh my God!!! I sold ALL my equipment the same night. Next was the job, car, mobile home, the dog....It's like the "Lay's Potato chip,"Can't eat (smoke) just one. It took me 20 years to get clean. DON'T DO IT ! ! ! There is no control......(Clean & sober 6 years)

At age 16, in 1986, I was in a 'facility for mentally ill and suicidal teens' and a kid kept playing this, and It caught on. I hated it at first, but after I heard it 101 times, I kinda liked it.

RIP. I lived in the same area as General Kane. I remember when I was a kid back in the early 90's he was in the local newspaper. Him and a family member where murdered execution style in his bails bond business.

I read that a long time ago, too. He was one of the artists I enjoyed throughout his career. I think it was his nephew who was murdered with him. I wonder when the rest of his "Kane" music will be out here besides "Girl Pulled The Dog".

DEATH REALLY DOES LIVE IN THE HOUSE OF ADDICTION!!!!

When this first came out, many high school talent show bands tried to get the bass right and couldn't but the lyrics made me pause in the middle of a raging dance floor. It was like a fire alarm had gone off and the song was saying...this is not a drill. Many of them kept on dancing...right to the cemetery.

Same here Monique Jones ( and I thought I was the only one ) I used to work with these older guys ( 5 or so years older ) & one guy would sing "Devil went down to Georgia" but alternating the words & making them funnier ! This song along with ( Grandmaster Melle Mel's White lines ) made me scared of drugs !

I remember when this song came out in the early 1990's. Some of my friends were talking about trying crack but I heard that you only need to do it once to get hooken. So, I never tried it. Seeing what some of the people I new who tried it ruined them physically and financially.
