I'm so hyped that you finally reacted to this!! Thanks for shouting me out! I became so obsessed with this song when I found it a few years ago! It sounds so good in my car!☺ Gene Pitney needs to be discussed more! Such a unique and dramatic voice & tone!! I love your Bee Gees reactions but I love your other music reactions outside of The Bee Gees as well😊 Thank you so much!

Gene Pitney has a completely different unique voice with a heck of a range, listen to his song "I'm Gonna Be Strong" unbelievable high note holding. I don't think anyone would ever be better than Bobby Hatfield but Gene comes close. Thank you for listening to these legends.

Gene Pitney always reminds me of Roy Orbison with his range. A unique voice that you feel as well as hear. One of the best. Thanks for digging this one out of the ashes and bringing Gene Pitney’s talent back to the forefront! A true entertainer! Love your reaction!

I grew up in the 50's and 60's but I don't remember ever hearing Gene sing this. I am do know Town Without Pity Tulsa, but other than The man Who Shot Liberty Valance I coukd n't name any of his other music. There is a country artist named Mo Pitney who has a good voice and sonetimes his wife also sings.I don't know if he is related to Gene.

Gene had a terrific voice and in addition to songs others mentioned a couple of superb ones were "Mecca", "I'm gonna be strong" and "24 hours from Tulsa" . This song isn't near the top of my list and I never heard it before but I do have his Greatest Hits CD and really enjoy his singing. He hits some terrific notes in "Mecca". You really should do more of his songs. PS - Looked up some stats. He had 22 top 40 hits in the UK, 11 in the top 10 and 16 top 40 hits in the US, 4 in the top 10. Not too shabby.

He was of my era but honestly, the only song I remember of Gene Pitney was “A Town Without Pity” and that was an excellent song and style. This one took a little getting used to and I don’t think it was nearly as good as “A Town Without Pity”.

What voice this man had and I've always loved him singing this song. Something's gotten hold of my heart and Tulsa were other favourites of mine. Haven't heard his music for a long time but would love you to play more. Great reaction thanks Chad x

I've never, even, heard of this artist before so I had no idea what to expect. Still, I was just as surprised as you were at how his voice sounded. It's definitely unique alright! Hopefully, I word what I'm about to say in a way where you understand what I mean. While I wasn’t really into his voice, I love what he did with it in the song. I feel like that's something that only makes sense to me, as I know exactly what I'm saying I like and no one else does, but I hope that's not true. Anyways, there's a lot of music from before my time, even way before my time, that I appreciate. In fact, most of the music I've listened to over the past few years and still to this day listen to, outside of Disney and Christian music, is from then. However, I don't think I can appreciate this guy's voice enough to listen to any more of his music. Of course, if you react to more of it, I'll watch that. But, that's, mainly, because I watch all of your videos no matter what they’re about or who/what you're reacting to. I say “mainly” because I would be a little bit interested in hearing how he sounds in a different song, just not interested enough to listen to his music outside of you reacting to it.

He did have a unique range, and his voice was quite stylized with more of an early to mid 60's sound. I appreciate that, but I'm not drawn to it. He was also a good songwriter. I remember hearing of him because my aunt was a fan even earlier than this performance.

I do really like this song, but not a huge fan of his vocal sounds. To me it sounds a bit "Harsh" at times. But it's a unique sound, and that's good. I allways think it's a good thing to recognise an artist just by hearing their vocals. To have an own unique sound is a blessing for an artist.

I agree his voice is distinctive but sometimes a unique voice can pigeon hole an artist as well.
