Only use urban dictionary for sexual terms. It is hilarious.
Props to Lola for doing this without passing out from mortification. Great stuff!
"Sus" has been a word used in Australia (meaning suspicious) for generations. Equivalent of the US term "sketchy"
@JoeMCool

I'm 57, GenXer 1.0 (literally - lol) and we used to say "sus" back in the mid-80s in NoVa/DC area.
I think of the song every time I hear someone say they "stan" something. I think it's pretty much the same thing. You enjoy or support something...sometimes to an unhealthy level like in the song. 😂
Penn bringing Dido and Eminem out to play is AHHHMAZING. I'm Mom and Pops age, so that was the first thing I thought too when she said STAN. LOL

I never put those two together. I guess I'm a bit younger, but I remember when that song was big and I know what "I stan X" means (I may or may not watch too much twitch). Then again, back when the song was big I didn't speak English, so that might be why.
I knew 3 and I’m literally her age lol. Also I love how the dad was like: “Kids love abbrevs” and he literally abbreviated the word abbreviation

The way she fled at the end is sooo familiar! Mine does that, too. It's almost as if they want to imply that we can't sing ... Which is sus ...
This is just proof that I live under a rock when I’m a fifteen year old girl and I don’t know half of these. I’ll have to ask my parents these and see how many they know. It’s me so they’ll probably know more than I even did. 😂

I kinda wanna see the kid's reaction to hearing "Stan."
Lola's face as the two of you finished off with a song! Priceless!!! 😂
After hearing "Stan" back in the day, I actually went out and bought Dido's album because that was my favorite part of the song. Plus one of her other songs was the theme to the show, "Roswell" that I loved. Speaking of slang, I remember back in the day that people used to say, "You're killing me, Smalls." I just recently watch The Sandlot on Disney + with my kids for the first time and was like, "Ohhhh, that's where that came from."

I first learned about Dido from original Roswell!! Loved (and at times, loved to hate) that show. 😁 And as much as I will openly dispute the problematic content of Eminem's lyrics throughout his career ... we saw him in concert (fantastic showman) and it was kinda awesome to see rap fans singing along to Dido.

As a 13 year old... I... only knew about half of these. I do know more that weren’t on the list though!
I love when we think of Stan we sing the Dido song accompanying it. Both songs are great it just made me laugh. I do it too. 💜🤣🎶 Edit: Penn I love you but I don’t think those are not the lyrics. 🤣🤣🙌🏼
Lola needs to use each slang word in a sentence. 😁
Lola is so cute, but these youngsters today have the weirdest slang LOL! You guys are hilarious to watch. I feel like this is the future for my husband and I with our kids (currently 2 and 6). We can't wait until our weird dancing and singing actually embarrasses them, mwahahahaha!
“Kids love abreeves so I feel like simp is like- simple” looooolll
I think stan is also combined stalker + fan.

Hence the name that EM chose for his psycho fan…….
I have been following this family since 2020, and I can’t believe how much everyone has grown!
Love the look on Lola's face at the end when both of u where singing. She was like bye. 😆😅😂🤣
What I find interesting is that simp is usually used to mean someone who fawns over or kind of acts overly desperate for another person... and simpering was affectedly coy or ingratiating. How words come back around.
I'm hip to that scene, very groovy.
The look she gives at the end when they are singing Stan😂
You Send Me is a song from the 50’s.
'Not enough energy to take the extra letters..' 💪 Had to be said! 🤣
"Pressed" has another meaning similar to what she said, but I don't think is Gen Z slang. It's just a way of saying "Frustrated"
Lola's like, "Ummm...okay, yeah...I'm never using the word 'Stan' ever again. 🤨🥴😬" 😂🤣🙃
I'd really would've loved to seen her reaction to the real song.
2:39 It sounds to me like Kim is passive aggressively calling Lola a freeloader.
Whenever I use my kids' slang, they're like, "Mom, no, you're not allowed to say that."
Y’all are busin! Lmao
Pressed means irritated? Back in my day meant 'hard up'... LOL Lola's face at the end tho.
"My tea's gone cold" ❤️ listening to Dido
"Drop the beat " 😂😂😂 i cant lol
Apparently I'm a dinosaur because I was waiting for stuff to pop up like lit and crunk 😂😂😂
This just made me feel old lol I had no idea what any of those meant 🤣

Pressed. "Like a panini!" Lol
How Lola looks at her super "uncool" parents is hilarious! Also, Kim and Penn did really well, i didn't know most of those, 😅
Little feedback- when you watch the video with captions, you can’t read the real meanings or definitions because the text is behind the captions, could you move the definitions to another part of the screen next time? I loved this video!
Funny that Penn and Kim went to Eminem for Stan. Great piece of music. Many people think that Em invited Dido out of nowhere , however in truth. Em had heard the song while he was writing Stan and asked her to be allowed to use it in his. Then he asked her to be in his video, a great move and thus Stan

Thanks for the video, now I am able to understand my kids.🤣🤣
I’ve heard some of these and had different interpretations, I like Lola’s better. Will I remember? No. lol 😂
Poor Lola. 😂 but I give it to Kim cus she had simp but Lola didn’t understand her answer, then she went rogue.
Fun fact: Sus does not originate from Among Us. I first heard it in the 1990s. Also we can use it as a verb: to “sus something out” means to work out details.
that song brings back memories-what a cool video.
I was waiting for “cheugy” to make an appreance 😂
I did not know it was from that song. I freaking love that song.
Oh my gosh!! My 2 teenage boys just tried to teach my husband and I a few of these while camping. Goodness- we are 43 and this lingo is hard to learn!! I find all of this totally Sus!!! 🤣
I’m Lola’s age and only knew “sus,” “bussin,” and “simp.”
Penn saying kids love abbrevs is sus and it’s sending me!!
Is it universal slang, or specific to Lola’s school? Not sure how it works with internet, but back in my time these were specific to schools or even small group of friends, and without internet, it didn’t spread too far.
