PREPFORIT its a expensive jacket though, but in comparison to other goretex jackets its ok in price, wish it had at least 1 pocket on the inside

What you see in the sink is just a good DWR treatment. No doubt the jacket is waterproof but what makes and keeps it waterproof is not the DWR treated top material but the Goretex Membrane underneath the first fabric layer.

Decades into this tech people still don't get how goretex works

I wish you would have detailed an efficient way of folding the hood into the collar. That was the whole reason I went to this video in the first place!

Water typically doesn't bead off of gortex in fact it appears to saturate the material instead but doesn't penatrate I fully think your jacket has been sprayed with something

Then gen 2 ecwcs goretex is the nicest jacket ever.. I believe this is just a foul weather parka.. really hard to say but the gen 2 is extremely durable waterproof and dope! I really want the FREE EWOL version of this.. same thing but kevlar!

That is a good looking jacket,do you think it's better than the gen 1 woodland jacket

Pacediver in weight yes, waterproofing yes , durability not sure yet as its very thin except the elbows to the wrists is reinforced with cordura, i still need to run more tests on the zippers which are very smooth but unlike gen 1s metal zippers these are plastic teeth on the zipper, so i need more time to assess the durability on them over time. gen one is very thick goretex, but is heavy on your pack loadout, which is why i got this gen 3 light weight system. i emailed tennier industries as i was sceptical of the lack of ads tags but they assured me they are genuine military issue so id say if you dont mind a 3lb system go with gen 1 but if you want a jacket that can roll up to the size of a coke can and weigh like 6 oz the gen 3 is the way to go, this jacket is so light u can hardly feel it. id assume the pants are the same as the gen 3 jacket but as i stated in the video they are very hard to find on ebay and when they do show up they are gone within a day so u really have to check ebay daily to get a new unused pair of pants.

Do you know if the sizing is like the OCP GEN 3 ECWCS Level 7 Army Extreme Cold Weather PRIMALOFT Jacket Parka Coat? With the lvl 7 they recommend to go one size down and i can confirm its true. Im an XL and the lvl 7 fit me perfectly, is this the same?

Hello. didnt watch entire video, but what size is your jacket, and how tall are you? I have an old pair of Gen1 woodland pants and the Gen 1 jackets are really hard to find. Just wondering yur size for when I order jacket like the one in your video. Im 5'9" and was thinking a medium reg or med long. Thanks for any info..

im 170 pounds an 6 feet tall and the jackets a little small on me lengthwise , its cut large and is a little baggy to fit insulating layers underneath like the gen 3 fleece and the level 7 parka fits under aswell

thank you for such a quick response. How well is your jacket holding up so far? I was hoping to get one for wet weather bow hunting and maybe for paddling on rainy days. I got a good rain jacket but its not breathable. Is the jacket too noisy for bow hunting in your opinion?

its way to noisy for bow hunting as for durability its held up fine for me but i havnt abused it i keep it on trail or around town, it is very waterproof. for bush crafting and manual labour id say get the gen 1 but for paddling and hiking id say this one is nice as its so light if i missed anything txt me back

Im roughly 6ft and it's a medium regular and is slightly to short on me so I'd go with a medium long if your my height with the same length torso

Hmm, for a level 6 it seems thinner than expected.

It's meant to wear over other layers in the system, that's what the 6 means. or stand alone. If you want to know more look up a video on entire system.
