Nice shave Chris. I believe the Segal one piece twist to open preceded the Micromatic.

Thanks, you're right. I forgot about the Segal. I've seen a couple of them lately but every one of them has got broken teeth

@@CDinVT I think because they’re pot metal. I have a few. Modding a blade is no fun, but they shave great
Great video. I've seen you on some of the forums and possibly Instagram too. I can't remember where at the moment. I like the earlier Micromatic razors just a little bit more than the later ones. Although the Cog-pruf Peerless is really nice too.

Thanks, I'm mostly active Badger and blade and tost3.com. I agree, I'm still on the hunt for a peerless
Hey Chris! Nice shave with that Micromatic! Here's an idea, how about a tribute shave to the 80th anniversary of D-Day June 6th this Thursday. I have contacted several KZread channels to see if they would do one. They love the idea! Just a thought. JimG

Thanks, jim. I definitely will do one .
Glad you noticed it too & it’s not all in my head ! 😂 the micromatic do really like it laid really close to the face. I prefer the 2 bumps 2nd gen.

I think I do as well the blade angle seems a little smoother on the shave
Nice one Chris

Thanks Paul you too
Great shave! I'll be honest, I didn't even consider using gem razors till recently. I'm still waiting on those ebay orders to arrive and decided to buy the gen 1 just now after watching your video. Blackland is releasing a revised sabre very soon. Is it on your radar?

Thanks, congrats. Just take it slow. Even with the bump model, I had a couple of bad shaves to start off with, but once I had the technique down, it was an Eureka moment. I saw it on their website and it looks very interesting. I'm more looking at new SE razors that use the feather artist Club blades

@@CDinVT Yes, I plan on being very careful using them 😅 I also looked at ac razors too. The Blackland Vector is on the top of my list. The Alpha Shaving Spirit would be second. Shield has a brass one that seems to be trending right now as well. I may get a Razorock Hawk to try out first.
