The yellow stained quartz often means that the gravel is "second hand", ie it has been on the surface after being discarded by an earlier fossicker.

All the gravels in these creeks come from deep leads, so they’re an ancient buried river that’s been eroded out into the modern day streams.

Good video. I never realised zircons came out of the ground. Thought they were man made. Thanks for correction

We’ve only done the bucket wash fossicking.. looking forward for mining in its natural ground..

i normally pan for gold but i love gems went to creek way out bush the section i panned was quite sandy but i was getting big spinel. Think i need to get some sieves and go back out there i know people in the 90's found diamond there. Is there a certain type of rock that shapphires form in ?

Any chance you could recommend somewhere to go for sapphires or blue topaz or diamond around south east qld where you can get a 4x4 close to where you would be working? I use a walker or when it's bad a wheelchair.
