    I'm sure once the 12 episodes of Black Mirror season 3 have aired he will most surely have an opinion on it. Don't believe Brooker is working on anything else except his 20XX wipe.

    The general critical consensus of all three shows throughout their runs are easily accessed online if you care that much. It undermines your rose tinted claim "neither the sopranos or the wires final seasons were received badly whatsoever". That demonstrates confirmation bias. They all attained groundbreaking brilliance but of the three, the consensus is that Breaking Bad maintained an exemplary standard most consistently. I didn't mention the Sopranos finale, but your comment is an ad hominem.

    That's a very well put together argument.. And I have to say that the final series of The Wire is probably the weakest, you're right. I am speaking as someone who has only the season the first half of season one of Breaking Bad. I have no frame of reference really, and was just asking. People tend to get evangelical about both shows but Th Wire always seems to be #1. I shall have to watch BB fully and report back! Thank you for the superb reply!

    @peopleinthechat5324

    9 жыл бұрын

    The Qeltar untrue, he lacks respect for his own empathy...disinhibited dissociative disorder....the fact it worries him is good. after watching this i agree with brooker ...control freakery, breaking bad is the work of a psychopath by the look of him...he turns walter into a sociopathic borderline cse from a schoolteacher. its nothing like the wire, the fans of this show are quite a different bunch.

  • @peopleinthechat5324

    @peopleinthechat5324

    9 жыл бұрын

    its the glamour and the attraction of the psychopathic mindset...it says "do what you want". Its a very dark path that would have ended far sooner for him in the real world. The fact that you care about walt is because the actor is not himself a psychopath...the director is...the absurdity of walt is what gets you i suspect. I tried watching it but my suspension of disbelief was too bored to tears by unrealistic characters and mainly boredom. his inevitable dev into some kingpin and killer ? not believable...hes the dad from malcolm i the middle for fucks sake and its just a rip off of weeds but with meth. theres no humour there...you ever met a meth addict? schoolteacher makes meth, gets away with it for five seasons as a plot device this little twat is proud of? guy needs money? how can i corrupt him? drugs...lets go with meth....the worst cheapest vilest most evil substance on the oplanet and if you start cooking it certain types will smell it from up to a thousand miles away and they they own you on way or another. Methamphetamine is possibly the most damaging and addictive drug in existance- it is taken by people whom it simply consumes....and quickly...inn many ways meth addiction is an addcitive cancer like no other. The fact that breaking bad exists and methamphetamine addiction is now not a huge and much discussed issue because of it? says wvolumes about the show...to make all that money off the concept of one drug and a mans involvment in it? If id have made it a large part of my profit would be going addiction clinics firstly in the city where it was set. I certainly wouldnt be selling wlater white bobbleheads to make a few extra quid. the hero meth cook...i dont think so. Have nice ife, just pray you or anyone you know ever even so much as thinks of taking, making , cooking or even thinking about methamphetamine witha view to putting it any where near a human. After about three years on the stuff...any amphetamine in fact...the human mind sort of leaves the head...ive met some nutters in my time but nothing comes close to an amphetamine freak... 5 seasons? and did you get the payoff of someone just up and shooting the cunt? wheres Omar when you need him? pish...fucking hero meth cook?...in that story the heavily armed officer of the law investigating the claims that walter white used to teach his students how to brew vodka in his chemuistry lessons or the screwed up meth head who gets a whiff and kills the bastard is the character im waiting for. i know an arsehole with a walter white bobblehead in his van...do you?

    I just think it is different and I love them both. The Wire is maybe best seen as an early 21st Century Charles Dickens story - which in season 5 was used by the newspaper characters. Dickens told stories about the poverty and related issues in Victorian England, The Wire does the same for a modern American post industrial city. There is a real political agenda and anger in The Wire, deliberately from the start, Breaking Bad is not written in that sense, even if the story does show up issues like US Healthcare and Teacher salaries, the drug war but from a different angle to The Wire.

    The Wire was a landmark, as was The Sopranos before it. At their best, they were quite possibly unrivalled. But they both featured notable 'wobbles' in storytelling, sometimes lasting an episode, sometimes arguably even plaguing an entire season. The Sopranos suffered a general decline near the end of its run and the final season of The Wire (particularly with McNulty's storyline) tends to be judged less favourably than what went before. I'd say Breaking Bad was the most consistently excellent.
