Geisha-like ladies dance Bon Odori / Bon Odori, Bon Dance in Jiyuugaoka, vol.03

The ladies shown in the main image look like geisha because of their traditional Japanese hairstyles and kimonos.
However, they are not geisha.
They are members of a group called “和創美” or “Wasobi" which teaches kimono dressing and etiquette, who participated in the Bon Odori dance.

The Bon Odori dance is open to everyone.
This video shows a Bon Odori dance festival held in Jiyugaoka, Tokyo on July 16, 2023.
The song being played is “Dancing Hero” or "Eat You Up" by Yoko Oginome.
Bon Odori is a dance performed throughout Japan in the summer.
It is held around July 15-17 in the Kanto region and around August 15-17 in other regions.

To get to Jiyugaoka, take the Tokyu Toyoko Line from Shibuya.
It takes 8 minutes for the limited express and 10 minutes for the express.
The Bon Odori dance is held at the rotary in front of the Jiyugaoka, station.
