Something I never got about Bloods and Crips past SoCal. For the longest time there wasn’t really Bloods and Crips in the Bay (Oakland, Vallejo, Fillmore etc) because that was an LA thing and all respect to them but why would we want to be doing what they’re doing? Geechi here talks about OGs branching out and tbh for decades the Bay just didn’t get down with that because that was like letting LA gangsters come in and colonize your hood and you lose the element of repping your own shit. That’s competition in the streets. So if cities in the same state didn’t want that why do they want it in NY and NJ and Connecticut? Why not just have your own shit? Why live and die for a set named after a street on the other side of the country?

NY and NJ do have homegrown sets. Only thing we have in common is the B , C, or G. We don’t claim they streets at all. But dats politics if you know you know. We govern our own on the East.
