    Excellent! I learned this as just a “down block” 20 years ago when I started Shotokan. I only started researching applications based kata within the last year or so and it’s been an eye opening process

    finally! found someone who agrees that the so called "Karate blocks" could also be used for offensive purpose thank you very much this vid i knew they could be used for offense but did not know how until i saw ur vids

    Yes! Just like Okinawan karate, the real karate. I wish kyokushin was more practiced like this as it should be

    This Is the Master Level. One technique, but combat ending. Itu could be a block, an attack, grab release. We don't play 12 rounds, we need single strike and, the game is over.

    Ending in the same position does not mean that the whole motion was the same as the basic gedan barai.

    It's so bad that actual karate techniques are so seldom understood by Kyokushin and even Shotokan karateka. It makes the practice of kihon and kata completely useless. Blocks are so much more than blocks.

    Nice video but some of these are also overcomplicated. You couldn't pull them off in sparring.
