@@SourSpaceMan It will be bad if they do the story justice, he still has optimism though because he does not know why Maria just left at that time. It is why when he finds out in Gears of War 2 and then finds what is left of her it breaks him. Losing his parents and Carlos did major emotional damage but with Marcus and Anya still there he got through it. Losing his children was another major hit so he learned how to cope and pretend which is why he starts shows people his photos of Maria and the children. Dom is a very tragic character.

The Lancer came to be after Tai cutdown a Locust with a Chainsaw. Marcus takes note of this and brings this knowledge to Adam, whom, makes the Lancer MK2.

I came here to comment that exactly. And it was a very similar scene to the trailer. The only difference is that the locusts almost killed Marcus and Tie grab a industrial chainsaw and cute up the locust in half.

Yes indeed, none of them were ready for how strong and hard to fight the locust are. Marcus is no weakling either but it really shows even am experienced vet who is still young and strong as hell struggled against this new threat. I take it you are an educated man having read the books and comics like many hardcore fans.

This is right after the Pendulum War ended by weeks or a month at best. This game will bring back the horror of how terrifying the locusts are. No one liked what we heard about Gears 6 being more open world then Gears 5.

The horrors of E-Day need to be shown, the book covered how scary things were but to see it in game will hammer it home. I bet we see the first use of a chainsaw by Tai and then the characters make cobbled together chainsaw lancers if the bayonet is detachable.

The chainsaw bayonet lancer was created "within the first year of the locust war"... They don't specify exactly when but considering it was made as a result of it being very difficult for the Retro Lancer bayonet to cut and pierce Locust skin, there is absolutely no way we will see it being created in a game set on the very first day of the locust war. From what I understand, Tai killing a drone with a chainsaw is what gives Adam Fenix the idea and I don't think that happened on the first day. Not sure when it did tho

I don’t usually get emotional about these things, but Dom showing up with the Mad World piano playing in the background made me tear up. Just brings back so many memories of good times. This reveal is everything I could’ve wanted from a new Gears!

RAAM was a huge reason E-Day was so successful for the locust, he did devastating damage, and you see the very start of it in the comic book “Rise of RAAM” in how dangerous and smart he is.

@@DYNASTY1031 Oh I am sure they will have RAAM being a huge menace, he and Skorge put “blood sweat and tears” into convincing the Queen to launch the attack with them leading. RAAM was ambitious as hell with Skorge, they wanted battle and killed to get where they were, Rise of RAAM gives so much info for them, and you need strong villains like that for GOW. Even to this day I can’t decide who I liked more as the big bad, RAAM or Skorge.

Imagine how the normal average person would fare, a dad trying to protect his family, or how a child seeing “the monster under the bed” is real would be scared and not knowing why this thing is trying to kill them.

With RAAM making a huge possible comeback, I also can’t wait to see the Carmine brothers return along with maybe a reveal for the 4th Carmine brother we haven’t yet been introduced to

A part of me was actually kinda hoping that this was a reboot. I would much rather see a reimagined version of the original trilogy than see Gears 5's story continue. I'm just happy to have the original characters, the locust and the gritty setting back.

I have NEVER EVER played gears of war at all........but im gonna have to get an xbox now because i want to play gears of war and some of the other xbox games sooooo damn bad especially since playstation hasnt been doing much this year

the new trilogy story is ass and really doesn’t belong in GOW imo. me and all my friends played through og trilogy god knows how many times on all difficulties. got bored a third way through gears 4 and never beat it and 5 didn’t even bother. and i have over 4k hours on four from playing comp. unless the writing team makes some serious improvements i think they should drop the 6 storyline as a whole or let it be dlc at best. it’s literally put gow on its death bed especially with gears 5 casual trash multiplayer gutting the competitive scene gow doesn’t need it.

I'm so glad they decided to go this way, I hope they don't mess it up. I don't see this coming out until 2026 at the earliest though which absolutely sucks lmao

If no one knows tai is the one who came up with the mk2 lancer in the comics and he basically did duct tapes a chainsaw to the retro lancer and killed a drone with it after this happened the cog made the mk2 lancer as the standard Lancer for the cog so they could put this in the game only issue is this happened later on months from e-day so this game could be over the span of a few months

Look at Dynasty giving us more Gears content. Gears is back!

Interested to see how this goes. I always thought we would get a Pendulum Wars game first and then maybe E-Day as a follow up. Fingers crossed for gameplay soon!

@@jdb6215 I don’t care if it’s only the knife being detachable but having it on and off affects the gun in terms of handling and melee. Maybe we see prototype weapons throughout the campaign like the chainsaw lancer being developed and used. Also since this is the same time as Gears Judgement, the breech shot might return as well with the return of the Rager locust

I was a Major league gamer during the Golden era of Gears of War 3 (used to be ranked #2 in the world in 1v1s) anything after Gears of War 3 just didn’t feel the same. If they bring back that dark and gritty, gorey Gears of War classic that made people love it so much… They will hit a giant home run. Bravo team, can’t wait to see what you cook up. Your true fans are optimistic about this one.

I just want to wallbounce and have an accurate powerful gnasher from gears 2/3 and beautiful emergence themed destroyed beauty maps with a new weapons and old weapons that change mp for better/ also I know I’m in the minority but I’d love to see a battle royale come with this game, Emergence day is the perfect setting to have that battle royale survival horror feel, can mix in the locust emergeimg randomly around different spots around the map making each game feel different

Yeah I like that a common drone was kicking Marcus Fenix’s ass! He never seen or fought anything strong like that before! Hopefully after this game releases or something we get a long waited and asked Gears Collection. With Gears 2 remastered, Gears 3 remastered, and maybe even a judgement remastered!

Bruv I watch this trailer on repeat and the sheer SIZE the drone has on Marcus is crazy, at least half a head taller and is genuinely ripped. It’s jarring seeing scrawny Marcus get toyed with. I hope this will be canon canon and reshape the series into not a one-off.

I wounder if they r making gears judgement non canon which they should i like wat u said we dont talk about thwt game only reason i wonder is cas when e day hit it took them like 1 to 2 years for adam Fenix to create the lancer if u read the books they fully ignore that with judgement there is a part where marcus and Tai r in some hardware store and a drone comes out and attacks them and they have a really hard time taking it down and marcus uses a retro lancer blade and the drone snaps it in half and tai uses a chainsaw to kill it and marcus says they need to come up with something more effective like a gun with a chainsaw on it and thats how that weapon eventually gets created

I also have to talk about something, enemies. What new enemies are going to be present in Gears of War: E-Day that are some how not in the “future” (Gears 1 - 5) and how they “died off.”

I really hope, I mean hope. This is when they first discover the different types of creatures. I need a carmine to die unexpectedly as well.

The first mission better be the end of the pendulum war, brief time of peace into e-day

I just want to see a nitty and gritty, dark gears of war game. With the horror and desperation in it of the locust attack. I hope they nail the atmosphere of the game.

Well this is my idea of what the story will contain at least based on books and comics. Aspho Fields will show Carlos Santiago and his death which impacts Marcus and Dom. Tai will probably make some appearance if the ending is the hammer strikes. Dom will lose his in laws and kids. Gears Judgment story may cross over if they do halvo bay with Marcus and his squad trying to evacuate everyone. Dizzy may show up as well. We may get flash backs for Marcus and his childhood on how his mom went missing with Adam hiding everything but finding out the truth. But man there's too much to explain so I can't wait to see how far they go with this story and if they'll have any dlc afterwards!

It would have been nice to see Cliffy back in some way for some true legitimacy to what they are saying of going back to the roots and tone of the original Gears; I think it would have been the icing on the cake of this new Gears. I’m confident that they will pull it off but if Cliffy would have been part of this it would have been fire and without doubt a “true” going back to a legacy franchise that sadly, in my opinion, had lost its way. Yeah let’s just skip Gears 6 not needed if this one goes well.

I understand why people didn't like gears 5, but i understand they were trying to keep us happy. I still play gears 5, honestly. I am glad they went to a prequel because i know we fans were waiting FOREVER!!!! Im so excited about this and gears of war is the only reason i bought a xbox instead of Playstation. Also dynasty brother, im glad you are a gears fan!

@@MrMorningStarz That wouldn't be too bad. That's probably the same time GTA 6 is coming out though, they might want to space it out a little from that release

Imma be honest Im hyped af for gears I’ve been playing since I was 7 years old btw I’m 25 now and I will say I loved the trilogy but 4 and 5 I didn’t like their stiff movement idk if they slowed things down or whatever but the multiplayer didn’t feel the same as when I played the multiplayer back then it was way more fun I was able to wallbounce better and etc back then I’m glad they’re taking the route they’re taking Hopefully they found the formula to making a good campaign like epic games did back then because gears of war is my favorite franchise of all time even above halo for me
