This is the series that got me back into gaming. I remember buying the 1st Gears of War game for my brother’s Bday in 2006. He let me try it and I was hooked, I went and bought my own 360 console and GoW copy. Today, I still love to game and look forward to co-oping with my son one day, hopefully with the rumored remaster for GoW 1-3 (and Halo MCC, of course)

100% feels like a lifetime ago.

With regard to the controversial ending, my hope was that Kait was actually captured and the scenario of choosing who lived or died was in her head as she was being absorbed by the hive. I think the Gears 6 should begin with JD and Del rescuing her.

I actually did not mind the open-world game play in Gears 5. It took some getting used to, but I enjoyed it. It put some scale into revisited areas from Gears 2.

I overlooked gears 1 in the game stores for a VERY long time until one day I was just bored of my games and just grabbed it for the sake of a game... Boy did I regret not paying it any attention until then.... Gears and Halo are the only reason I'm an xbox fan to this day

I just hope Gears of War 6 Horde will have exclusive horde maps not pvp maps

When playing Gears 1-3, I always thought it could be improved if I could play as an angsty teenage girl with mom issues. Thankfully Gears 5 answered my prayers. So hopefully Gears 6 continues this trend, cuz that's what military shooters are about.

I like my Gears campaigns like food: a tailor-made multi-course meal according to the vision of the chef, not a massive Las Vegas-sized casino buffet with tons of open space and choices which don’t have a personal touch.

I actually really liked Gears 5 in general, minus a couple of misteps. The multiplayer, minus the hero abilities, was actually very smooth and played great... same thing goes for the Horde Mode. Hivebusters was actually a very original idea, especially with the comic book releasing with it and the map maker, so I'm not gonna hate on that like other people have. The campaign was solid except for the weird chose your own path type event that split the community. The main takeaway is everything Gears 5 did was good but had little things that could've been better. Still not a bad game by any means.

It was bland characters and the did really push the story .Main focus on female then have bitch at everyone when she disobeying orders ,to even then she did nothing really ,she had told were to go .So hope if do hope put more effort with the Hive and give them some personality ,style ,and focus less on whole female empowerment more just good written characters that have scenes and line that make them rememberable . Example Gears war 2 had that tattoo guy ,the trucker all rememberable even with their short scene time .

Really need Gears to go back to Gears 3 or 2 those where the days! If they ever do a Gears 2 remastered, I'm all in! The Gears 1 campaign was amazing because of how dark it was and the characters were amazing each with their own personality bringing a unique feeling to them.

Could give us Gears of War: the prequel. Or gears 6. Either way I hope they just give us some characters we can get to know. Give us another team like delta. But new

Yup, great game, but the way they handled pvp for some a lot of folks was disappointing and the game died quicker, some folks didn't enjoy the tower defense styled hoard that they went even heavier into from previous ones, though you could say they kinda gave you variation of the older style with hive busters, besides the waves of enemies on a single map to the end. It would be cool if they were able to flesh these things out more, but also be able to cater to those who want old school things or more competitive stuff, or to at least offer modes that would be more OG. But I still enjoyed the game overall

Idk why they changed the button layout to be more inline with COD, the original D pad weapon swap etc was way better. The movement and aiming was off in the new ones too

I liked the gears of war 5 open world concept I thought it was really cool something different than having it be following a set route like the other 4

please make gears 6 like the old gears. I want a story of duty and brother hood. I want solid game play that I can reply multiple times. I dont have hope for the new game but I hope I am wrong.

The God Of War open world was perfect for holding a narrative that felt was put in the right places in the “open world” model it had. I think that would fit perfectly with Gears because of its gameplay style. At least for the campaign. Slight bigger open areas because of the shooter gameplay

If gears 6 doesn’t get revealed this year then to hell with a remastered trilogy. I remaster would’ve been cool a few years ago or if there was no Gears 6 planned but now we need to see the new Gears. Remaster with news of the new game would be a cop out.

Saved JD, While I like Del. JD needs more time on the screen and having a Fenix main character is always needed. Theu made JD look like such a prick, and did him dirty, but I think theres more to his story.

Nothing will be compared to the first gears of war, the dark gritty atmosphere and not alot of locust is what made it better. Now they have alot of goofy stuff it aint gears of war no more

The way the bodies used to explode when destroyed by weapons, the randomness of it, has not been duplicated since Epic left the Franchise. The game becomes boring without that feature. I do not see that ever coming back. Sad but true.

If Microsoft was smart they would’ve had a Gears of war ready for launch alongside the new console but no they invest in all these online games or non exclusives and it has hurt their bottom line I’m telling you, also the lack of transparency with this gears brand is concerning barely any news on a new game or the movie

If they do a remastered collection, I seriously hope they don't use the name "Marcus Fenix" collection. It sucks, just like "Master Chief collection" and "Nathan Drake" collection did.

We'd definitely still have uncharted and the last of us even without gears. Uncharted was developed around the same time.

Would be cool for the Felix collection to also be a launcher for 4 and 5 also kind of like how halo mcc added odst and reach post launch

Uncharted came out 1 year after gears of war. It would have released regardless.

Really hope they do justice with these remasters because gears of war UE was mid and more stretched out than the original. I know an exclusive act in the campaign from pc was included but just felt like filler for the players. Not to mention the combat and the human designs looked off compared to og gears and doesn't look like it connects to the designs of gears 4 and 5 humans.

In my opinion comparing the coalition to 343 is not fair the coalition is still giving us some solid games with good story and good multiplayer instead 343 has been fucking around since they received halo, above all when it comes to the story. Just disgusting tbh.

Gears 4 was ok, but not great. I play g5 horde every single day but the story centered around fckng Kait is a disgrace. Woke bs, had to be feminized. Gears is about the Fenix family.
