Doing a simple restart on the ice maker fixed my issue. 1. Turn the switch to off for the icemaker. 2. Wait 30 seconds. 3. Turn switch to on for the icemaker. 4. Press the ice limit lever in 3 times.

That did the trick. I removed, cleared and installed the bin. Ice maker Off. Ice Maker On. Push the white plastic lever in the ice bin three times. I heard the ice cubes drop within minutes.

I want to know how to clean the coils on this fridge with them being a drum. Seems almost impossible to remove the drum

My GE French door refrigerator is new purchased 2 months ago & never used the ice maker nor water. Now that I try get ice it doesn’t make any ice.

You're welcome! It is easy to overlook the simplest things!

My ice maker went out and then the next day the fridge started making a really loud noise coming from the back freezer. tried unplugging for 24 hours and this helped for a day with the noise but no ice production has returned. I did a deep dive and went through all of the diagnostic codes and all came up clean. water comes from the water dispenser. changed the water filter as well. noise is coming from the back motor/fan in the freezer by the condenser. Freezer also starting having some frost as well. Fridge and freezer appear to be holding temperatures appropriately. any idea on how to trouble shoot further so i can order the correct part/parts? would the water valve not working cause the fan/motor issues

If you are getting excess frost/ice build up on the evaporator coil in the freezer, that could indicate a problem with the automatic defrost cycle. This frost can block airflow to the ice maker compartment and cause the ice maker to stop making ice.

My Ge profile refrigerator icemaker seems to be stuck in a loop. The motor to dump runs its full cycle around for 30sec, switches off 30 sec. Then starts all over again. I can feel the tray warm up to dump, but it is not filling with water. My water dispenser works & so does the ice dispenser of ice already made. I did change the filter last week, but everything was fine until yesterday. Now it is stuck in this loop. Even turning ice maker off does not stop the cycle. Nor did unplugging for 30 mins...

It sounds like the ice maker has failed. We would leave the ice maker unplugged until you can replace it.

I shut the water off for a vacation we took and when I came back the ice machine stopped working. Could it be air in the line?

If there is any air in the line, it should work itself out on its own within a day.

Mines not making any ice, water works. Try is empty. The forks don’t move when doing reset cycle. I’ll probably have to actually pull it out to see what’s going on. What can I do after if I discover that there’s no ice in the ice maker but forks don’t move?

Check to make sure the ice maker compartment is getting cold enough. If the ice maker compartment is cold, then the ice maker itself may have failed.

I am getting a 0010 code(thermistor reading out of range). Its the only code I am getting. No ice and freezer isn't freezing. Could this be the problem for both?

0010 code - Freezer Icemaker thermistor reading out of range. If you do not have a freezer ice maker installed, it will be normal for this error code to be displayed.

@@PartsDr what do you thing my freezer problem could be? I have no ice buildup. When I put it in service mode the test appears to be bringing down the freezer temperature. I’ve opened up the back and cleaned up all the hair and dust, all the fans are working. It’s got me stumped.

Ours makes ice, but water drips from the hole the ice comes from. Could it be the rubber flapper?

Yes, if outside air is leaking in from the rubber flapper, it will cause condensation to build up around the ice dispenser hole in the door.

What if you have an ice maker in the freezer? Neither the top nor the bottom one is producing ice. Water dispenser works fine .Water filter does need to be replaced. Any suggestions where to start? Thanks guys!!🙏🏽

@PartsDr Yes! Had a tech come out and diagnosed a freon leak, but couldn't pinpoint it. So he didn't want to fix what he thought it MIGHT be. Quoted me $900 repair. The fridge is less than 7 yo! Not sure if I should dump more $$ into it or not. Any suggestions?? And thanks for replying!!👍🏾🙏🏽

If the water doesn't work on either ice maker or the water dispenser, first check that you have good water supply from the home to the refrigerator. Usually you hold down the lock button for a few seconds to lock or unlock it.

Im getting water thru water dispenser but Not getting water to the ice maker. I should only need the water valve thats in the door correct?

It could be the water valve in the door. First, try removing the water line that goes to the ice maker and blowing through it to make sure the line is clear. If the water valve is receiving power and the lines are clear, then that should confirm that the water valve is bad and needs to be replaced. kzread.info/dash/bejne/immIlpSFoM-slto.html

That exact model number doesn't show up in GE's database. The closest model they are showing is PVD28BYNBFS which uses this part partsdr.com/part/wr60x31997-ice-box-fan

@@PartsDr PVD28BYNBFS Seems like the fan is intermittent to the ice maker sometimes it'll get down to 2° currently it's sitting at 55° with no or very little ice in the ice bucket
