Great video. Thanks! Have been running this machine for about a month now. What I have found is that if you run smaller loads with lighter fabrics, the clothes come out dry. In the case of very large loads, the lesser heat may not be able to get to the clothes in the middle and the sensor may be fooled into thinking the clothes are dry. They still come out mostly dry though and spreading them dries them quickly. The benefits are the substantial savings in utility bills, convenience of not having to transfer clothes from washer to dryer (lots of people forget and end up with smelly wet clothes), less heat means less damage to the clothes, I have stopped finding static in all types of fabrics (earlier flannel and towels would stick together) and the space saving. You can now rearrange your wash schedule to run a small load every night. Load the machine, set it to run at 5 am and wake up to dry clothes. No need to wash once a week when you have to be around to transfer clothes. This is a game changer. Now if they brought the price down, this would take over. Not needing to vent and 120v means you can place this almost anywhere with access to water and a drain. Great for new homes. And you save other ways like a traditional dryer is pulling in air that you have paid to heat or cool and is venting it outside the house there by pulling in outside air into the house which your heater or aircon has to moderate all over again. This machine just recycles air in the house which is huge. And don't forget no more lint filled vents which are a fire hazard. Great benefits!

Very nice overview Mario! I love hearing people who have actually used it with real world experiences! Makes sense that it doesn't dry super large loads completely. Totally agree that it is a game changer with the many benefits that you listed! Thank you for tuning in to my channel!

Does the app have a reminder to clean the lint filter at the recommended load cycles?

I noticed that the indicator light for “smart dispense detergent” wasn’t lit up when the load was started. Is this an automatic feature that’s always on even if the light isn’t lit? I wonder if it used too much detergent for that load without that option turned on? Seems like a great idea and I love that it saves on power!

Would love to see your connections set up that are under the sink. I want to do the same in my apartment and I would like to make sure I am using something somewhat reliable and tested. Pls share 🙂

This may be a stupid question but does this work without the Smart app? In, for instance, we lose internet can I just use the machine like normal?

Great question! Yes, absolutely. You do not need the smart app. All available settings and features are available on the panel. The app helps with notifications and making adjustments without being in front of the machine. There’s a lot more details in the app that I’ll be sharing after running machine for a couple months with various cycles and clothing. The main reason I see people gravitating to this machine is either not having the 220 volts/gas or outside vent for dryer. Is that why you would consider it or interested in the efficiency/convenience?

While its a really great concept, I would avoid this model like the plague! I bought one in September 2023 from Costco and it was amazing to start a load and wake up to dry clothes. I also love the energy saving aspects to reduce costs. Unfortunately 3 months after getting mine, it stopped heating and I am now entering my 4th month of it not working after 4 visits from techs that aren't familiar with the machine (and we live near Atlanta so you wouldn't think that would be an issue), waiting for weeks on backordered parts, and now they are saying I need to have the entire heat pump module replaced. All I get is the runaround and no resolution from anyone. This morning she indicated that it isn't even spinning all the water out and they come out dripping and there isn't a way to run just a spin cycle like you can with other units so we can then move them into our old dryer to dry them like we have been doing for the past 4 months. And yes, we have checked the drain filter isn't clogged, enough clearance, etc as well as have the 4 techs. I regrettably recommend you avoid this model and if I could get a refund I would.

Wait until you start using the machine daily with comforters, sheets, jeans, etc. Drying time sucks. It hardly dries well. I regret buying this combo. I've only had it for 2 months. After 4 weeks, the drive belt shredded. GE came out and replaced the drive belt.

Thanks for the feedback. Curious, how often did you clean the lint filter and foam filter? I know you said GE replaced the drive belt

@TheAppliancePlug I clean lint filter after every cycle. I wash the foam filter per GE recommended time frame. I also clean the lint filter housing unit from built-up lint once or twice a month. I take excellent care of this combo.

I have observed that large loads do not dry that well. This machine may be better suited to multiple small loads (it will still use way less power than a single dryer run on the older dryer). You can think of running a smaller load daily. Even set the timer to start the wash at 5 am and you will have dry clothes in the morning. Have also noticed that putting clothes of similar weight in the wash gets them dry. If you put a pair of jeans with a load of shirts, the shirts end up dry but the jeans may be slightly damp. Big benefit I find is the wear and tear of the clothes is less - maybe because of the lesser heat. Also find that my clothes are completely static free. Hope the drive belt shredding was a rare issue. If not and the belt has a defective design, GE may be forced to replace drive belts on all machines sold. Very surprising issue considering they have been manufacturing washers for a long time and the drive belt should be a known quantity. Good luck with your machine!

fabric softeners makes the clothes repel soap and water , also its bad for the machine.

  • @TheAppliancePlug

That could be the case, but this specific unit has a dispenser specifically for softeners. If the manufacturer engineer's decided to add a softener dispenser then I believe if you use it or not is up to your discretion.

@@TheAppliancePlug I would advise you to not use it , to help lengthen the life of your machine. The softeners gunk up the machine. Also like I said they literally make the clothes repel water and soap.

This thing weighs in at 350 pounds . . good luck moving it if you have any problems with it. While it is a clever machine it does slow down wash/drying time as opposed to having a separate washer and dryer where washing and drying can happen simultaneously . $2700 is not for the faint of heart.

Hi Tom, correct 10lbs isn't a lot but that is just the recommended regular load amount. You can add more than that for sure.
