    Hello Sir, Why we Subtract tolerance in MMC and Add tolerance in LMC Condition

  • @rahurahoo
    @rahurahoo3 жыл бұрын

    sir, at 6:03 what is the significance of LMB ie, 12.3 value, while we are drilling 7.7-8.5(LMC) dia hole? In drawings are we following this much?

  • @mechanicalvault

    @mechanicalvault

    3 жыл бұрын

    LMB results into datum shift which plays the role when we have to adjust the part in assembly for function or mesurement.

    Yes, because now bolt has to pass through washer and still clear the part which is sitting on top.

    Sir i have one doubt in datums pls solve me. In rectangular box one datums is sufficient? We are using 3 datums.

  • @mechanicalvault

    @mechanicalvault

    4 жыл бұрын

    Bhaskar Reddy - It depends upon function and how part is assembled on next level part to decide if we need one, two or three datums. Apart from FORM symbols in GD&T, we need at least one Primary datum minimum. But if our part is located with respect to additional one or two planer or non-planer datums, then we may have to use secondary and tertiary datums as well.

    Angularity value is dependent on angle of the feature???? It is measured by sinbar techniqe, if angle got deviation,the angularity is also deviate, is that both having relationship..

  • @mechanicalvault

    @mechanicalvault

    4 жыл бұрын

    Angularity TOL is defined by 2 parallel planes inside the size tolerance zone in which all surface elements of the angular surface lie. If angularity TOL is not mentioned in the drawing, size tolerance controls angularity indirectly. It's only when we need tighter control between two angular surfaces, we can use Angularity TOL.

    Hello Sir Gratitude for the valuable information, Sir I have some doubts as a design engineer did we need to calculate all tolerances, how to select which standard is required

  • @mechanicalvault

    @mechanicalvault

    3 жыл бұрын

    Company will decide which standard they will follow, but we need to mention it in Drawing. We generally use old drawings or general tolerance ISO or IS for most dimensions. We do stackup or mfg process Capability study only for functionally critical dimensions.

    hello sir ,sorry but you have illustrated maximum material condition in wrong way as we get bonus tolerance if the part is drilled or machined at mmc.

  • @mechanicalvault

    @mechanicalvault

    3 жыл бұрын

    MMC is the maximum size of external feature of size and minimum size of internal FOS (where it has maximum material on it). When we apply geometric tol at MMC, we get virtual condition which is combined effect of MMC and Geometric tolerance. As actual produced size departs from MMC towards LMC, it provides equivalent bonus tolerance. MMB is the Virtual condition at datum if M modifier is used besides datum reference in feature control frame.

  • @mechanicalvault

    @mechanicalvault

    3 жыл бұрын

    Also, if we use M modifier, we get zero bonus tolerance when part is produced at MMC. Kindly re-check your statement again.
