She definitely didn’t fit for that type of show where they have to have warmth or at least come across as having it even though they might not be that way in real life. For example, al roker comes across as being light and having warmth but in real life they say he’s not that way to the guest that visit the today show. They always said Ann Coury was the one that was the nicest in real life.

How long WILL IT BE before every human finally gets it through their heads and hearts that you don't have to agree with someone else , but you do have to treat others respectfully.. One day you may wish to discuss their beliefs with them to see why they believe what they believe or why they act how they act , IF ONLY TO reaffirm your own decisions about what you choose to believe or just to try to grow in understanding another human's viewpoint. EVEN IF YOU NEVER AGREE WITH THEM, in order for each of us to be respected and allowed to be whoever we want to be - whether a voodoo priestess, Satan worshipper, athiest or nun., we have no right to expect out of others , the respect we deny freely to others. I find it odd that the one main thing Jesus did stress to his followers when he was on Earth was for them to love ....to love God and to love our neighbors and to treat others the way we WANT to be treated ourselves, just because it is the right, beautiful, kind, gracious, civil and decent thing to do. It is it's own reward, it is what societies are made of... from ancient times. We all should treat each other right always,( no matter who they are or how differently they think or believe than us), if we did that, oddly enough Jesus would not have needed to come or needed to teach what is good and right to humans. Your seven word comment only proves to me even more that Jesus did (and does) exist because were it not for him, I could easily answer you and many others as horribly as you answered a harmless citizen's opinion when it was voiced. Believe as you wish, but do not belittle the message ,which is the only message you seem to need today.

It will be insane if Jefferson Parish LA disenfranchises my vote again. There will be some hell to pay if they do , but I suspect it will not come to fruition till 2020. Which sorry to say , I am hoping for Nikki Haley to run , and she will have my vote as the first woman president. That's as things stand right now . Cuz I just don't think Dems are going to pull a good enough rabbit out of the hat by then. Plus not follow Trump down the sewer hole tainting themselves. In some states your job is required to let you come up to 2 hours late or leave 2 hours early so you can vote IF you request to before hand.

I love how she says she doesn’t want to be the story yet goes on colbert.

When looked at in context, this was such a minor remark, even as compared to her previous racial comments. Such an over-reation to fire her. I'm a Person of Color and a Liberal, but you have to leave the conversation open to people with whom you disagree. She wasn't even condoning it. She was saying it was okay when she was a kid. While clearly impossible for it ever to be "okay" morally, it was definitely accepted in many communities at many points of our history. I don't doubt that a person raised amongst privileged whites in a Conservative sphere or area wouldn't realize that such a thing is sensitive until it is outright explained to her. Having a person like Megyn Kelly in the mainstream media conversation is good for democracy. We need to listen to each other in order to change and grow together.

NBC should have hired Jon Stewart to host the 9 o'clock hour of the Today Show and rename the show Jon Stewart Today starring Jon Stewart from 9 AM to 10 AM Eastern, Central, Mountain & Pacific time on NBC

She is so smart and able. When she worked in CT she was always doing all sorts of reporting. Very up with people and positive.

I think Stephen nailed it when he said, "...the issue of blackface never drove by." I don't care much for Megyn Kelly, but if anyone gets something like blackface wrong, that's a great opportunity to have a conversation versus attacking them, having them fired, ruining their career, and maybe have them run back to Fox. Maybe Megyn was learning something - she was certainly moving in the right direction when she left Fox. What lesson was learned here? I really hope Megyn learns the real lesson and goes on to do good instead of becoming a martyr for intolerance.

This is midterms. Trump doesn’t stand for re-election till 2020. Even if he did get re-elected it would be 6 years from this point to the end of his improbable second term.

You're obviously not American that you don't know these are congressional elections. So why you care?

She spent 11 minutes avoiding saying anything definitive. If he had said "Is the sky blue?" She'd have said "Some people seem to feel the sky is blue. I try to remain uninvolved in the discussion regarding the color of the sky." I'm sure that's a fine trait for a journalist, but she is a charisma-less void as a talk show guest. In order for a conversation to be interesting to listen to, both sides of it need to have an opinion. Everything he says, she deflects it. And her crowd pandering "I just love America!" crap is making my skin crawl. She really should just stick to reading other people's words off a teleprompter.

Actually she did the right thing because stating a personal opinion can later be used against her and reduce her credibility as a journalist. There is already much confusion about who is a journalist versus opinion driven TV personality.

You have to wonder why Gayle goes out of her way to say she doesn't want to be the news, just report it, when she's sitting as a guest on an entertainment show. If she really wants to fill the role of a journalist, why didn't she turn down the invitation to appear? This isn't to single her out. Jake Tapper, who's arguably more of a journalist than Gayle, has also appeared on Colbert, to name just one. The lines separating news and entertainment and political leadership have been blurred on TV as we've become a culture fixated on "celebrities" and "personalities." It's not helpful.

As a woman of African decent I feel like this time NBC and the media went to the extreme. I don't feel like she said wearing black face was okay. And there's a difference between dressing as a character you adore and just putting on black paint and acting like a dumb ass. People seem to forget what black face really is. Nothing Meagan said was making light of the history. And she didn't say she thought back in the day black face was okay. What she was saying was when I was growing up I thought it was okay to dress up as each other. She means it was okay to dress up like Martin Luther king or someone white. I've seen black face and there's a clear difference between what those idiots did and simply dressing as a black character by choosing a brown tone and not black paint. As long as you're not trying to look like a stereotypical black person impersonation I dont see what's wrong. I mean I'm olive toned, if I want to dress up as a darker skinned singer like Kelly rolland, would I be wrong to put darker brown foundation on and a freakem dress? Is that black face? And yes I know my black history. I think it's best to stick to characters you resemble in some way but it's not necessarily black face if you go darker to imitate someone with darker skin if it's meant to be positive.

Boy, I hope I'll look as great as she does when I turn 63.

Canada's elections make it easiest as possible for everybody to vote, regardless of bias, gender, race, religion, address issues, it's not perfect, yet they try. On and on, from myself, I'm glad the former Presidents was not hurt in the latest incident, I am hopeful for an easy peaceful election in the midterms, in US elections, seems Ms. Kelly wants it both ways, when I thought, Journalist, was supposed to be unbias, and not have personal opinions, this isn't the first time Journalist have gone through this in Canada, Barbra Frum Born in Niagara Falls, New York, she angered some when she had commented upon the She angered many when, on December 7, 1989 on The Journal, she refused to acknowledge that the École Polytechnique massacre, by a killer who proclaimed as he shot and stabbed women, "I hate feminists!" was an attack on women and feminism, saying: "Why do we diminish it by suggesting that it was an act against just one group?"There was comics cartoons of Barbara Frum having an interview with God, perhaps Megyn Kelly could have that interview herself? Think well of yourselves, and enjoy a conversation with strangers as you vote, never know what you can learn from each other? I wish the greatest Peace on earth in the world this election, and furture elections.

I think the entire Megyn Kelly story is blown out of proportion. She was imitating a celebrity who just happens to be black. Big deal. About 35 years ago, Eddie Murphy did a parody on SNL called "White Like Me." He was made up to look like a white man and he even made fun of whites, during the sketch. I don't remember anyone being up in arms about it at the time. This current political correctness is ridiculous and it needs to go. Incidentally, I'm a very liberal person, politically speaking. I just think that this is petty and stupid.

SNL is a comedy skit so it is far different than a lawyer turned tv host saying what wrong with black face. I don’t think she should have been fired because we all make mistakes but she should have known better because they were coming for her anyway.

@@Dana_inc -- I don't think it's simply because of one example being a comedy skit. I think it's the difference between the two eras. Back in the early 80's, when Eddie Murphy did that skit, people were much less burdened by political correctness, and we all had a better sense of humor and a thicker skin. Today, it seems that everyone is just chomping at the bit, waiting for any excuse to come along so that they can jump up and down and display mock outrage. No one is a "better person" for thinking and behaving that way. We have instead stifled ourselves and our own freedom of expression.

I expect her to say idiotic things, just like everyone else who is associated with Fox. The other reason is because I am not easily offended by ANYTHING, because I am quite capable of thinking for myself and simply discarding anything that I see or hear which is clearly the product of inferior minds. When I see someone like Megyn Kelly, to me it's like watching Archie Bunker on the old _All In The Family_ sitcom. I don't take people like that seriously, because they are obviously brainwashed and deranged. They don't offend me... they actually mean little or nothing to me at all. If everyone else felt the same way about them, then no one would care about the drivel that spills out of their mouths. In short: if someone says something that offends you, then _they_ have the power. But if you laugh at them and pity them for saying it, then _you_ have the power.

my brother painted his face brown when he dressed up as Mr T for Halloween in the 90s. well, he was probably around 6 or 7 years old so most of the 'blame' lies with my dad, lol.

Gayle King, what planet are you on? Are you aware Black Lives Matter? Are you aware children are separated from their parents at the border? Are you aware of whats happening to Native Americans & their lands? Are you aware of the poverty that pervades the people of your colour? And historicaly; Vietnam/Cambodia, Central & South America especially Chile, the bullying of Cuba and recent history, the destruction of Iraq and Afganistan, the destruction of Libya, the bullying of Venezuela and now the attempted destruction of Syria. The US is not great, was never great, in fact based on all those events and the appointment of Kavanaugh indicates the US is the biggest s******e country in the world. You talked about not taking sides, just reporting the facts. You're either joking or lying, right?

Yeah that may be true but she is either exaggerating or plain dumb. "When i leave the building I look around everywhere" or something similar was what she said, the bomber was using the mail, sending mail bombs, he wasn't waiting for anyone. Why would she think the bomber was coming for her personally? It's paranoid and stupid behaviour.
