To be frank I am not comfortable Gambhir being chosen as head coach because of following reasons… 1. Unlike Dravid who had experience of working as coach for under 19 and then became head coach, Gambhir never coached any team except working as mentor for KKR… 2. Gambhir is short tempered and need to see how he handles likes of Kohli ( already with history) , Rohit etc etc…

he has coached lsg as well he can handle blokes like russell, starc, stoinis. he'll do just fine. virat is no longer the captain so the option of ideas colliding is already out of the window. gambhir has always admired rohit so this partnership can't do any worse

Douley is such a great guy! HArsha and Duouley are really the gentlemna of cricket.

We r so obsessed with 50 over world cup and T20 world that we r forgetting the most important trophy The Test Championship yes I can understand it's has its different place in fans mind but the real test is real test nobody can take that away from you and this is the one Championship we have to win cause scoring runs and taking wickets in shorter format is easy as both the formats are fast paced but playing that long innings or turning the game by taking wickets at the crucial time has its own joy and utmost importance and value... That's why the Test Championship is the most important goal for the Test Team under the leadership of Rohit and newly appointed coach Gautam G. Also Rohit and Virat are almost at the fag end of their Test Career so that championship win makes it more important factor in their respective careers..

Coaching ipl team is different from coaching indian team. Everything at stake is very high at international level. No questioning gambhir s knowledge of the game but his temperament when things don t go well and his subsequent relationship with players will be the big question mark. Already kohli might be having some jitters.

We need just little bit tweeks in longer formats to make the team perfect. We have a good core group in longer formats. No one can remove seniors when they're doing their job of batting or bowling well.

@@shreyashnawale1809 rohit kohli Jadeja shami achieved a lot with their performance for franchise & Indian cricket in all formats. now it's time for young players to play all formats for india [bilateral series+ icc tournaments] for India 🇮🇳 under Gambhir How long india domestic players wait for chance to play all three formats for india?? Until u start giving opportunity to them. only hype of fans + media focused on senior players even performed well or not and domestic players should sit in dugout to carry drinks in all formats those who Excell in domestic cricket in every year for respective state, but no enough opportunity atleast 3 or 4 series bilateral for india in every year?? My opinion - So exclude all senior players in all formats and give domestic players in all formats for india + icc events to start with 2025 champions trophy and wtc final to 2027 odi world cup 👏 and continues.

@@bhaskarteja1997 that can't happen. You can't just put whole new team in international cricket.... Consistent performers in domestic cricket over the years will get the reward but whole new teams can't be brought. There'll be mixture of new and senior players

Gambhir should also be mindful of past events. When Kumble was appointed coach the team deliberately lost the final of the CT2017 so that he would have to go. Unfortunately Rohit and Kohli have reserved seats for the next ICC tournaments and they will go to any extent to replace Gambhir with the nice guy WV Raman who they wanted so they could rule over the team. Gambhir should get a clear mandate from Jay Shah for dealing with the old guard.

When he applied for coach position, it was in the media that he has his conditions as in his own team staff and that there would be different team for t20, 50 and test like he has said earlier too that there should be different selection criteria for all 3 and that his demands has been met. If you get the power of selection in your hand then you can do a lot. The team won't follow thr players. Also no matter who the coach is, Rohit and Virat are going to be in the team. Rohit since he is captain and Virat too for obvious reasons and from what I have heard about Gambhir from KKR players, he is quite harmonious but methodical. He is an aggressive but nice guy. Also Rohit and Virat are close to the edge, the young ones are too young to create trouble so it won't be the same. You have never seen Gambhir fighting in the team, it's always the opposition.

Kumble was the best person to be coach at that time very disciplined and honest He never tolerated the nonsense of so called stars soo the stars conspired against him and threw him out of the team

He will become the best coach india ever had.... Under dravid we player 5 icc tournament but only won 1...and in that also it's a Brilance of bhumbra hardik arsh.. 27 runs in 28 balls.. 10 out of 9 times opposition won

After all the talk about winning and putting the team first, we better beat Australia and England away from home in the next two series. he talks a lot but he better deliver in red ball, this is not a tinpot ipl team he is in charge of. I have a feeling his ego and attitude will get in the way.

And talking about VVS and Prasad, they don't have any experience to lead or coach any team.... The ability of Gambhir to handle the team is second to Dhoni only in current times.

That is more important then picking up someone based solely on political party affiliation & ipl coaching history. Ahh did you know Abhishek Nayar is batting & Vinay is bowling coach.
