I love that the song critiques the media for putting serial killers on the news or in movies and how they completely over look the victims and their loved ones. Goes well with what the King did in the anime, considering he was trying to justify a war ( which he couldn't win) and completely overlooked the people who would have to pointlessly die in it.

Every crazy lunatic gets their 15 min of fame. I hate the media for what they do.

This goes along with scenes so well. The medieval King started a conflict he clearly couldn't win. Only things keeping him on his throne are his daughter and the people back home. A large scale war where there have been hundreds of thousands of soldiers killed on one side and zero on the other (Guess which). I love this anime....actually i love the manga more cause the anime cut out a lot of good stuff. And this AMV ROCKS

And as you read into the Manga, the "king" is so disconnected that he has no idea what he is fucking with. Japan could steamroll his nation. But it does not. Meanwhile the US and other nations are working to gain access. Imagine Russia or the US dealing with this 'world'. it would be a massacre.

The flow in this video is insane. I've watched it like 10 times already and I'm still finding new things, I think my favourite is the sword at 2:25. Just brilliant.

Phantoms are easier to get through the gate because their wings fold, ditto for the choppers. The C-17's OTOH, now THAT would have taken some doing.

The song is about serial killers being glorified at the expense of the families they hurt. In Gate there's a King that sacrifices thousands of soldiers to attack Japan in a brutally one sided fight.. at the expense of the families he hurts, including his own. It's one of the best songs to pair with Gate for an AMV.

Venficus Infinitum I think it's a song about both perspectives, the Japanese (Terran people in general) saw the otherworlders as monsters, but when the JSDF came through the gate they became the monsters on the other side. Men of green who could kill dragons, wipe out armies, and rule the sky in beasts of metal.

This amv basically says:you murdered innocent men women and children for nothing, I will wipe your entire kingdom from the face of the earth for it

It's amazing and it video is more in the spirit of manga (in the grim spirit) than the anime :)

Fun fact: Japan would not have been allowed to pursue the Empire through the Gate, as after WWII, they have been prohibited from pursuing aggressive war. Instead it would have been the US military going through the Gate, as the defense of Japan has been guaranteed by the US.
