I like the idea of Gaster having enslaved the followers somewhat, and using them as a way to get to Sans. Also Gaster as the Devil is just absolutely perfect, especially given the religious connections in Deltarune.

this is phenomenal. i mean absolutely amazing. the animation is so smooth and expressive, and all the different perspectives are not only super engaging but really beautiful!!! your use of red as the singular color throughout also adds a ton of emphasis on sans and papyrus' relationship as well!! and, i'll say it again, this is just SO smooth and expressive. every single frame looks amazing, i'm blown away. i love your transitions as well- and when you showed sans and gaster through the holes in gasters hands that added so much to the scene!! i could go on for days. this is such a high quality animation. thank you for sharing!!!!!

Aww thank you so much for liking it! Yes!! I also love and enjoyed working on that gaster's hand holes frames , probably my second favorite shot from this (first being the entire third section where gaster grabs sans' hand haha)

Perhaps Papyrus paid the price for Sans instead as is implied from his expression in the last scene. Although these are just my random thoughts on the animation.

I audibly shrieked out loud like three times while watching this. Such a clear plot, a fascinating premise. The art is SO GOOD, I rewatched sections over and over. I also love how you don’t sideline Papyrus. He’s way more aware of Sans’s/Gaster/human/timeline drama than most give him credit for. And according to Undyne, UNDYNE, one of the hardest bosses in the game: “He (Papyrus) is actually pretty freaking tough!” I have taken so many screenshots. I will be drawing and studying and practicing them. You inspire me to keep going. Thank you, newnap, so much. Seriously. Thank you.

this is a really cool animatic and honestly makes me really curious what's going on, what is gaster trying to do? are the followers helping or trying to stop him? how much does sans know about the situation?

it could also combine well with the "followers are fragments of gaster"-theory as not only does the last follower merge into gaster at the end but also it could be his way to "manipulate" sans by making him believe the followers are his friends trying to warn him while they are also telling him in an undertone the price gaster wants him to pay? ALSO in the end gaster said "thank you for taking MY advice" so that would match my theory
