Gasoline Evaporator With Wick Pre-Combustion Vapor Chamber - From 29 MPG to 43 MPG

Ғылым және технология

Hello Everyone!
I'm making video's sharing my experience with running a car engine with the assistance of a Pre Combustion Vapor Chamber based on the wick evaporation theory(See you tube screen name "The Vapor Kid" to learn more about the wick evaporator).
I'm testing this concept with positive results. Thank you for watching my video. Have a wonderful day!
PS. A car engine is said to run at an air to fuel ratio of approximately 14.7 parts air to one part fuel. And furthermore said to be running lean, if the air to fuel ratio is greater than 14.7 parts air to one part fuel. And is said to be running rich, if the air to fuel ratio is lower than 14.7 parts of air, to one part fuel.
When running an engine on gasoline fumes, my research and study indicate the air to fuel ratio to be closer to one or two parts air, to one part fuel. My research and study thus indicate running an engine on fumes is a rich combustion.

In 1935 a man named Pogue built a carburetor that got 205 MPG on a flat head V8 ford, it was tested by Ford motor co. in Canada. He was told never to talk about it ever. I have the patent prints and how it works, it is a vapor carburetor. The oil company's control everything.

Tom in Toledo As I recall, the Pogue vapor carb was pretty complicated, but got ONE hundred mpg on a track doing a consistent 30 mph.

There's also a system that people build for themselves which allows anyone to make their own fuel with supplies available from the hardware store. See my video GEET Engine Explained kzread.info/dash/bejne/q6d8x8-OabvbmKQ.html . I've built one and the design seems simpler than the Pogue carburetor.

Go and buy yourself a Coleman petrol stove and look at how the vapouriser work's on that, it turns petrol into pure gas that burns blue.

Nice! on the video of my lawn mower I use the wicking system but I used the socks inside the jar to wick the fumes through it. it works even better when I had exhaust gasket blowing on the jar to heat it up.

Nice setup! But be careful and use safety precautions such as wire mesh for flashback. Monitor your o2 sensor voltage, make sure you are nor running too rich which can destroy your catalytic converters. This advise is for experimental purpose only ......

Have you experimented with gasoline chemistry? One ounce of acetone mixed with 10 gallons of gasoline will make the gasoline vaporize more efficiently. This has been done since the fifties.

It's hard to work out because (to me) you're describing two different things. A vaporizer and an inline PCV filter. Catching the yucky blow by contents and thereby preventing them from entering the intake manifold is a cleaner and more efficient practice. Air fuel mixtures burn more efficiently when this nasty sludge vapor, if you will, does not enter the combustion chamber.

so kinda like an oil catch can? a lot of modified ( forced induction ) engines benefit from a catch can for the reasons you explained. instead of throwing oily air back into the engine, they route the air to a filter of sorts first. this helps efficiency in performance gain.. I don't know enough about it to really explain how with any real confidence. listening to you talk about your experience sounded a lot like the oil catch cans I've heard of in modified vehicles. check it out. good video thanks for sharing

set up like this, it should make the long term fuel trims go negative a certain amount, which will shorten injector pulse width.

Well done buddy! Everything works if possible and later you will find the answers why. O thoe it would be better know the answers first. A correct move which you did with a t-shirt is enlarging fuel vapor area. around 52" square should be good. You can make a more accurate calculation of area using a large disel filter inside the container. Also 6/1 fuel ration seams to have greater results.

Have you tried using water mixed with methanol in the canister? I think it might work similar to a water injector system. Cleans and cools the engine head and improves mpg.

I made a similar system it's a bubbler using the vapor from the breather and I use windshield washer fluid it's 20% methanol or ethanol depending on brand it works great my Mercedes 300 SD turbodiesel never was so fast not even when new and driving at normal speeds I use a lot less throttle it translates in better milleage also it climbs hills so well I have to back on the pedal ,before the bubbler I had to floor it to keep at speed limit

Is the fuel consumption here figured by the car's mpg calculator or actually at the pump? I used a very similar setup and went from my car's rated 22/32 (avg.25mpg) to 40-40.5mpg in mixed driving (*via the mpg dash gauge). Was only done on a short 12 mile trip. I generally don't believe the car's mpg computer, however.

I'd say the mpg increasing (with the gas vapor) is due to it richening the AFR, which I would presume the ECU observes and therefore cuts fuel at the injectors. That's what I think, at the moment at least. Also, with the water vapor, since it cools the CC, the ECU could also see that and cut fueling to an extent as well. Correct me if I'm wrong, but most ECUs by design will actually add fuel to attempt to lower CC temps. I'd assume this works in reverse as well. One thing I'd like to mention is that the length of the 'feed' hose may be hurting the results a bit. Due to the vapor having more time to cool off and condense on its way into the intake manifold. However, the Vapor Kid's lawnmower is essentially the same, and actually adding water vapor on top of the fuel vapor. This puzzles me, as one would think the non-insulated line plus water vapor could possibly cool the mixture to or near liquid form. Whatever the case, it seems to work, but a temperature reading of the mix as close to the CC as possible would be nice to know!

@William but a wideband o2 sensor would show the accurate AFR, and could manually go off of that.As for ecu design, if the injectors are manually cut off via toggle switch then that solves the problem yes?
