Gas Works - How I Lost One Passion And Gained Another VLOG
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
So what’s the story with the name of this channel? Well, it started as one thing. A passion. But, life and reality sometimes define the path you take. The path may not be up to you, but the footprints you leave behind are. So ride a few miles in my shoes as I explain what the meaning of Gas Works is…..

Loved the video. I was into classic cars. Owned a few. Can't afford it now. Now I'm into classic customized bikes.
Thanks for the Paul Harvey reference, that brought back memories. Great story
Enjoyed listening to your story, keep 'em coming.
Cool story
10:50 You're not complaining, and I'm envious of you riding beautiful open roads, blue skies and vineyards. I hope you don't mind me enjoying it too! (maybe one of your videos could be showing the 1970 car. that would be interesting)

Things could be, and certainly have been much worse! Glad you like the views. As far as the ‘70…. Well, maybe someday. I need to take her to a mechanic to figure out why it keeps blowing the ignition fuse. Half the time I drive it, she leaves me stranded on the side of the road from some unknown electrical issue.
You sure are right about what has happened to old cars and I remember Bob Glidden. When I was in high school Gary Densham was our shop teacher. He ran TEACHERS PET back then and kept it at school. He would fire it up and do burn outs during class. Man those were the days.
Glad you’re back!
Luvin the blah blah blah. Keep moving forward my friend.
Love listening to your stories

Thank you! Thank you 🙏😊
Thanks for sharing your story I love old hot rod car's myself 👍 be safe ✌️
Let the rich boys have their rich toys, plenty of ways to have fun in motorsports on a small budget. I bought a 1969 Honda Trail 90 in May of 2020 as a pandemic project with the intention of a full restoration, back to factory or better is what I wanted. Sparing no expense I'm only in a little over $5k, which includes the cost of the bike. That's one of the things I love about this hobby, there are so many ways to have fun with it!

Putting 5 k into something worth 2 sounds like you are playing a rich man’s game, especially considering a brand new 2022 model is only 2200.. it is built to the same quality, with reliability in mind, I’m pretty sure it still has a kick starter and requires No battery.. so your getting nothing nostalgic except the carburetor.. is that really worth that much.. any answer but no will take you back to rich man’s game..

For reference.. I paid 800 for my 63 ct200.. the us forestry version of the ct90, it was tougher and faster, I put fun into it.. literally just rode it, that with an Elsinore 125 which I also paid $800 for, I traded for around a $2500 bike

@@bmint If you're looking at it purely as a financial investment, yeah it's a bad investment. But that ain't what I bought it for. I wanted to learn how to restore a vehicle back to factory new. I knew it wouldn't be near worth what I put into it when I started the project, most restorations aren't, it's a passion. For $5k I was able to learn how to rebuild an engine, strip the paint, repair body work, how to paint, polish aluminum, re-lace spoke wheels, mount tires, re-upholster the seat, re-build wire looms, etc. Way cheaper than doing any of that on a Chevelle or Camaro. Some of us like the build just as much as the ride, like I said there are so many ways to enjoy this hobby.

@@bmint Also a new CT125 has an MSRP of $3999 in the US, add on dealer fees and tax, probably around $5500 out the door. That's if you can find one and if the dealer doesn't gouge you on the price.
Loved this story. I remember a few things from your channel and stories that I incorporated into my motor-life. Thank you
Thanks for sharing. You got me thinking about my first car. A 1974 Dodge Dart 2 door with a 318. Bought it for 1200 bucks with 47,000 miles on it in mint condition. Loved that car. Makes me wonder what that car would go for now.

A lot more than what you paid that’s for sure!
Very nice, explanation well done.
Best origin story I've heard. Makes me want to go out and work on our old farm truck, a 1961 Chevy dump truck, that has been converted to a flatbed. Still has the stock inline 6 .

I had a Dodge Dart, 1972 with a slant six in it. Gutless as hell, but that thing ran like a sewing machine. So smooth.

@@GasWorksISO the ole truck hauled everything from firewood, to tractors and farm equipment, to cows to the breeder, or slaughter house. The flatbed was made for that truck specifically. Granny gear was a beast too.
Beautiful ride. Thanks for the backstory. I have to admit, I was curious :)
I love those stories!
happy to be a part of the gasworks experience.! thanks!
I agree. "gas works"
I grew up during the 60s and 70s. I definitely miss seeing so many cars from the 30s to the 70s rodded-out like you described everywhere I looked (I grew up in Southern California). After that, most cars were so underwhelming, in my opinion. Yeah, there were a few exceptions afterward. But I miss those glory days of Detroit muscle. They had such style.
What he is talking about at 7:33 is what is happening now and every generation! Hold on to your chevy trucks.. historically speaking, and history repeats, they will be worth a fortune!
Thank you Barrett Jackson for falsly inflating the worth of classic cars.
