Having used both the Benelli M2 and the Mossberg 930 for practical shooting I can honestly say the M2 comfortech was the most forgiving gun I ever owned. Whatever the position I shot from, however hurried or bad my gun mount, it never hurt me. Easy to maintain and almost 100% reliable. Currently run a 930 again and it's a completely different animal but sadly this time around I couldn't stretch to the M2....

I’ve owned both. I now shoot only Benelli just because the way they fit me and their reliability. But the biggest advantage I feel is how quickly the Benelli’s cleans up compared to the gas operated guns.

I agree with the comment below. I own a Benelli Ethos which is designed as a clay sporter. It will shoot 24gm loads with ease which removes any additional recoil!!

I have a franchi infinity 3, which is inertia driven, great gun, just clean the barrel, give the chamber a wipe out with a lightly oiled cloth, job done 👍

I have the Benelli Montefeltro Sporting 30 inch barrel 12 Gauge only shoot heavy loads, but still have problems with cycling about 10% maybe because I have shot only about 700 rounds. I love the shotgun, pleasant to shoot almost no recoil. 😀💥💥

I own that exact Benelli, cycles 21g if you need to, easy to clean & doesn't kick much, I doubt I'll ever buy a gas semi auto.

Shot for many years but never a semi-auto and I suppose the the comparison/question I’ve got is : is the recoil of the inertia gun significantly more/ the same / less than the regular B525 - Silver Pigeon O/U most of us tend to use? The Benelli’s reputation for reliability and ease of cleaning makes it an appealing option but if the recoil is harsher than the conventional O/U’s I’m using I’m not sure I’d bother.

A400 especially with kick-off almost does not have any recoil

Wouldn't say it's necessarily more or less comparatively. The recoil amount is probably about the same, but is spread over a longer duration and you'll feel the crunch of the bolt mechanism working.

Ok , I want to purchase a Ethos SuperSport 12 gauge… I’m seeing about 70% of my research say the shoot 80%+ high . True or false??

We have personally never patterned a SuperSport however this can be slightly adjusted thanks to the shim kit supplied with the gun. The best thing to do would be to find a place where you can try a SuperSport and pattern it before you buy one. This will give you the true answer as to whether the gun is shooting to high for you or not

I’ve never had an issue with recoil with my Benelli raffeallo i’ve a Franchi affinity too that didn’t get cleaned in a year that’s inertia driven and is 100% reliable I see more A400s go wrong while shooting clays then inertia guns. I’d say there’s no difference in recoil between my benelli raffeallo and a A400 they do feel very different in recoil I will add If your shooting hundreds of cartridges a week i’d say go with an inertia driven gun it’s never going to stop working and will be cleaner when you come to clean it.

So the ding on gas guns versus inertia guns was having to clean the gas gun; all the filth goes out of the muzzle of an inertia gun. So buy an A400, clean it 3 times a year at the most. Best of both worlds.

Beretta is so smooth but not as reliable as benelli. The benelli fires anything out of the box but it rattles my head with the recoil.

How can inertia can be as reliable as gas action? Because of the reliability all military and special forces use gas operating systems.

@@istorichunter8807 I bought the new beretta a400 xcel sporting and my buddy I shoot with has the benelli ethos and the fabarm l4s (gas). The beretta has the softest recoil but has the worst reliability out of the bunch. The fabarm is a softer shooter than the ethos but not as reliable. It needed to be broke in at first but still has a hang up every once and a while. The benelli out of the box has not had a single misfeed even with shooting tons of cheap Walmart bird shot. Trust me I wish it wasn’t so but that is my experience.

@@istorichunter8807 I’m hoping I got a lemon but the customer service is good so far and a representative is working to resolve the issue. If I bought another one I would spend the extra money and get one that has been upgraded by cole customs which has an upgraded trigger, action job and feed ramp beveling.

I never had one single issue with either of them .. never. One of my buddies shoots only Benelli … several issues I’ve seen him battling while on the 5 stand or sporting clays.. so 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️
