Weird vocals but it all works very well! Pretty good bass player throughout all his works. This song was done by the "Keef Hartley Band", the band Gary was in shortly before Uriah Heep picked him up. KH was a loose group of comings and going musicians sharing instruments and vocals throughout their catalogue. Members of KH were free to join other musical endeavours while in the band, though Gary left them for good after joining UH. Bloody shame he wrecked himself. Yet another member of the "27" club (primarily notable musicians dying at the age of 27).

I can't for the life of me explain why Gary never ever gets mentioned in any bass or guitarist magazines.... Is it because Uriah Heep were never press 'darlings'??... I was at the Dallas show when he got electrocuted, I was looking right at him, admiring his playing, when he suddenly tensed all up and fell face first on the stage. Roadies came and carried him off, band still playing, we thaought it was part of the show. They did a free show next year, Gary was gone by then, so sad, such a shame and a waste. R.I.P.G.T.

Sold your eyes they're red with fires above your head, You feel to fall against the wall you've been lead, No now you ain't got no heart time to change or the strength to rearrange the words you said, Your growing old you're feeling cold your hands are dead, I see you hold your thoughts so bold beside the bed, And no no no you ain't got no heart time to change nor to rearrange the words you said. You say your together now------ 3 times Stand behind the one ya left what's going wrong, What's going wrong now Lord, You can't go wrong no, You can't go wrong no I know. Say your together now --------- 3 times And reach out in towards the sun you just begun, To understand what your father found above the ground, And no no no you ain't got no heart to change nor rearrange the words you said. You say your together now ----------- 3 times Stand behind the one you left what's going wrong, What's going wrong now Lord You can't go wrong no You can't go wrong now I know

what a pleasure to hear Gary doing something of his own.One of my heros!!
This track is from when Gary Thain was in the Keef Hartley Band. It is on the 1972 Album "Seventy Second Brave"

Il più grande bassista di tutti i tempi hello gary
R.I.P. Gary Thain, great N.Z. talent. It has been years since I heard this. Thanks for uploading this Gem. cheers
Grandissimo.... Notevole bassista rip
haunting song, new to these ears, thank you
Gary entre los más virtuosos músicos de la historia del rock
If Gary were to live and also Deep Purple guitarist ( Bolin? ) who overdosed in '75 - if they got together that would have been the start of a great Band..
Покойся с миром, великолепный Гэри!
amazing vocals, magical song
interesting voice...good song!
Gary had a quiet appearing nature which to me gave Uriah Heep it's luster. I seen them live when Return to Fantasy tour was happening in Vancouver B.C. I have Keef Hartley 's albums and appreciate them more now. Gary Thain was my favorite bass player for what he did for Uriah Heep
In the world of the best, greatest, Mr. Thain stood strong.
Another member of the 27 club. I've never heard this song before but me likee very much.
Mr. Gary Melvin Thain Rest In Peace 🎸😭😔🙏
You say your together now ----------- 3 times Stand behind the one you left what's going wrong, What's going wrong now Lord You can't go wrong no You can't go wrong now I know
Фатална възраст за музикантите... 27 RIP
This song is taken from the album Seventy Second Brave (1972) by Keef Hartley Band with Gary Thain before going to Uriah Heep
so miss him
I couldn't agree more.

Nice Song!!! Im from Brazil! \m/
Its no secret that Gary was by far the most musically talented of ANY member of Uriah Heep. Much respect to all attempted shoe fillers afterward, as well as any former or current band members...but it was what it was, and it is what it is.

You got a point, Gary Thain is absolutely there as one of the greatest, ever played in Uriah Heep, but I don´t think John Wetton, replacing Thain was a "shoe filler".
His eyes and his voice show to us his shoul.....
no kidding...umbelievable bass player not enough credits..Why? because He was not never the front man...but in my heart..HE kicked some very serious ass...listen to his tracks..R.I.P.
Nice thing...
мы помним тебя Гарри!

Amazing song.. Does anyone have lyrics??
New Zealand's Glenn Hughes!

Gary "fuck " Thain.....R.I.P
Always makes me ponder why the greatest musical talents almost always are the weakest, too, and why they're so easy to lead astray .. Hell with the drug dealers.

I didn't know that Gary died on the same date as John Lennon. Actually on the same day. But 5 years apart
He seemed like a very quiet person...Just happy to lay down a good bass line.
RIP
Another great dies at 27 from Robert Johnson it keeps going on and on.
Totaly agre hes one of the best.
Schade dass er bei Heep nicht auch mitgesungen hat!! Tolle Reibeisenstimme !!
such a shame such a waste, rip gary we are still listening
It was on" 57 brave" I think when he was with Keef Hartley band.
good fascinating song and voice...in which album is it?
At first that singing voice really irritated me. Half way through the song I was enthralled with it!! Either way,Gary was always my favorite in Uriah Heep. RIP
