The critics hated them but Heep in the early to mid 70's were one of the great and underrated Heavy Rock bands . The first three albums in my opinion are their best .

If the critix hate 'em .. that's a sure sign a band is worth listening to .

Lee Kerslake's voice was also very good. A band full of talents in many ways. So unfair that they are the most underrated classic rock bands of all time.

I was there, at this point in time, this was a collection of minds which together produced nothing short of pure genius. David Byron, Lee Kerslake, Mick Box, Ken Hensley, and the unforgettable Gary Thain. To see live, this was an experience that never leaves your mind. Incredible mix of music and showmanship. Incredible sound.

It can be characterized by a slow, laid-back vocal delivery and a lack of urgency in the performance. Uriah Heep was named after the character Uriah Heep from Charles Dickens' novel "David Copperfield." Ken Hensley chose that name because he felt that the character embodied the kind of attitude and personality that he wanted for the band. David Byron was full of energy until he got burned out. So making such a judgement by this only one performance is not fair and it certainly don`t give justice for him, in my humble opinion. And yeah, he was still great even after burning the candle at both ends for much too long.

What a treat to see & hear Uriah Heep at the height of their musical power. Most of the songs here sound more muscular than on the original album tracks, played with energy & confidence, but still sounding fresh. Even the songs from their then-current album, "Wonderworld," (an album which was not well-reviewed at the time) sound better here. Oddly edited as the program gets into the latter half (random shots of the audience vari-speeded to match the tempo of a song,) we can only presume the live audio for "Sweet Freedom" encountered a problem during the shoot. The audio we hear is the original studio version, with added echo to sound "live." The only other disappointment in an otherwise rousing performance by Heep is that, no matter how many times this footage has been posted, it seems no one other than, perhaps, the original editor has the footage of the female streaker who ran across the stage at the beginning of "Stealin'" wearing nothing but boots & a smile. Watch at 9:46 for a fleeting glimpse of skin running past Gary Thain, and his smile to the rest of the band. A few seconds later, David Byron asks "Who was that one?"

I went to see them in Glasgow two or three times in the 70s, this takes me right back to being there among the audience soaking it all up everyone was on their feet dancing clapping and singing...fantastic! I was gutted when David Byron left he was such a brilliant front man as can be seen here, however I am still a Heep fan and listen to them all the time ❤

Gary Thain. Utterly brilliant bass player. One of the very best. And yet he very rarely gets a mention in the press.... Hayho... What do they know?...clearly not very much.

I saw this line-up three times in the seventies. Easily the best live band I ever saw. So underrated. Very sad that four of the five are no longer with us. ❤

Did the British promote the show? Not sure the U.S. had independence yet. Pretty cool Uriah Heep still holds up after over 2 Centuries.

Lee Kerslake brought that Easy Living ending to Ozzy's Over the Mountain. Awesome 👍

I once saw them in the Boston Gardens. Mick walked on stage with two arm loads of 1oz bags of weed and began throwing them into the crowd. I was on the balcony, looking straight across the stage lengthwise, yelling, trying to get his attention. 😂

This is amazing ! Had the disc for years and have never seen the entire performance , ' I won't mind ' is a barnstormer of a Heep song rarely played live with 2 blistering solos by Hensley and Box . They just don't make 'em like this anymore ...

В тюбике есть большой концерт 1973 года в Японии, 1975 года в Голландии ( кажется ), ну куча в его 90-х и последующих годов , но це таке - на любителя за исключением

Во-первых из-за того, что ещё не угасла слава Битлов, и появились сольники Харрисона и Маккартни. Во вторых--на тот момент в Британии были банды намного сильнее со всех точек зрения. Про пëпл я не говорю (меня от него, и всех его проявлений, типа Уайтснейк, Радуга, Ян Гиллан Бэнд и тд., давно уже тошнит). Но Роллинги,Джефферсон Аэйрплейн, Крим, Зеппелин, Джетро Талл, Пинк Флойд, Слэйд, Саббат, всякие Фарлоу😂, Элтон Джоны, Джефф Бэки, Кинг Кримзоны, ЭЛПы и тд и тд и тд. Сквозь них невозможно было пробиться. Хипы и стали в Союзе популярными, потому что моряки за бесценок покупали их диски, а нашему пиплу продавали как реликвию. Поэтому союз был наводнен этим третьесортным рокешником. Спустя десятилетия перелопачивания музыкального материала, начинаешь понимать одно простое правило: если банда не может сделать нормальный концерт вживую--далее сделайте выводы сами. А сейчас наберите в ютьюбе Майлза Дэвиса, например, и, как говорится, почувствуйте разницу😂😂😂 PS Это писал человек, для которого Хип--одна из любимейших групп, и постоянно присутствует в машине на флэшке.

Тут много можно чего сказать. Во-первых жаль , что нет концерта на DVD , также этот концерт мог бы быть на диске. Думаю был бы не хуже чем известный двойной. Ну и жаль ,что амбиции Кена и пьянки Дейвида развалили такую супер команду..😢

Жаль если его не будет на DVD . Мне кажется , что тут он трезвый и в ударе . Мир музыки много потерял с его уходом . А на дисках этот концерт пока не попадался , вероятно раритет. К сожалению от группы осталось одно название и Мик Бокс.😢
