watching this in 2021 and Gary Oldman only gets better with age. Some of his best performances have been in recent years.

Such vulnerability when he speaks about the absence of his father. It seems that he has been indelibaly effected for life by it and it probably fascilitated his demons and addictions. I sense some sadness and regret that his father was not around to experience his success with him. Yet, it seems that those latent feelings add to his acting genius. I wanted to reach through my phone and hug him to my bossom and let him know that he can tell momma all about it and just hold him tight. I love this man and I hope this interview was cathartic. ❤

So refreshing to listen to an actor of his stature that does not ruin it by following the lib line airhead politics of Hollywood. Highly intelligent at the same time wise and down to earth. Hope the political climate in Hollywood does not harm his career. Rose was miffed to realize Gary leans right and tried to push back but Gary was clear in his beliefs and firm. Great man.

I so concur. A very sympathetic portrayal. Something I've never seen in any other portrayal of Dracula before. Not even from Frank Langella who was the FIRST sexy, sensual bloodsucker both in the play and then the movie. Gary made me fall in love, though, and want to protect HIS Prince Vlad of Szekele. ❤❤❤

WOW I love Oldman but damn he lost something somewhere - these two interviews are the bridging point it seems. Suddenly he is adopting that horrific "mid Atlantic" quasi US accent affectation, wearing thick glasses and toning his performances right down. I'm sorry but shoulda stuck with the booze. But then I wouldn't want him to suffer the physical consequences and die for my aesthetic taste. But sobriety doth not elevate the man.... funny how people get that twisted...
