I was with an amazing woman for 4 years. Longest and last I thought I ever had. I saved for months and picked a ring to propose on Easter. She left exactly 2 weeks before it. And it was my fault. All of it. It took me a long time to get past the addictions that caused all of the troubles and get better from it. Cut to years later. I have an amazing wife and life. A home to own. I love my wife with every fiber of my being; and she has our child in the works. But every time I hear this song; I always think of that girl. She's doing great in life. I'm extremely proud of her for it.

Such a beautiful song in tribute to his wife she was 37 an suffered from depression an migraines if ya read about it she sent him to kitchen for a drink an he heard the gun shot..my friend got me listening to his music after my wife suffered from same thing an was same age.. I found her in her car she had shot herself in tha chest. Words couldn't help me I went thru some very dark months after that but thanks to friends an my daughter I survived it.. I have a beautiful girlfriend now but her suicide taught me what life is truly about an that's being with your family an those you love nothing else matters except your loved ones... Thank you Gary for your beautiful music to help sooth my soul when memories come flooding back in of that awful morning when I found her ..words can't express tha pain suicide causes...

I'm usually the guy who finds comments to beak and whatnot, I just can't stand some whiny little school kids complaining their lives are so bad because their girlfriend of 2 months broke up with them and life is just the absolute OMG WORST! It makes me sick that these little pukes don't understand what real problems are. But you my friend, your story got pulling on my heart strings and I wish you nothing but the best in your life's future endeavours. It sounds like you have found happiness again and I am very glad of that. Hopefully you can take some solace in the fact that a random guy from Canada is pulling for you, there are still people who care.

So alot of my friends and people listened to to country and this song was getting played all the time. In fact alot of Gary Allen was getting played. I didnt care for his music or country, but i remember this song. And now that im 32, this song suddenly popped into my head, and i had to come back and listen to it. My gosh, this song even though its a cover, and knowing what he was going through when he released this album. My heart goes out to him and anyone who has lost someone important. Beautiful song.

Heard this song at work. Not a big country fan, but loved the song instantly. Found out it was a remake. I love both versions but I like Gary's a little better. Great voice, and when I found out the story behind why he remade it, i was torn up. I can't imagine going through something like that. Prayers for his wife and him. I learned how to play the song on guitar and I'm going to play and sing it for my girlfriend. We are going through some rough patches and it'll probably do more harm than good with my voice, lol. I didn't know Vertical Horizon wrote this. I've always liked a lot of their songs but never really knew who they were or much about them but do now. I am also now giving country music a chance and I'm definitely a huge Gary Allan fan as of recent all because of one song and the diffent meanings it can hold for different people. Stay strong Gary and I pray that your wife is welcomed into the Gates of Heaven. Peace.

Kimberly Sue Lowery, my love, my heart, my soul. We did not have much time together. You filled my heart with hope and made me complete. I was ready to walk away from everything so we could be together again. I never quit loving you from our brief time in the past. Your father.....well I won't go there. When you came down to the fire station and told me your feelings for me it was like the sun rose in my heart and a part that had long been frozen finally thawed. We had our secret rendezvous' and those times passed so fast, then when we were going to be together, God, Fate, The Great Pumpkin took you from me. We will be together again someday and until then my heart, soul, and love remain yours.

Anybody out there have dreams and in those dreams you actually talk to the someone and they answer your questions? When they tell you that they have to go you tell them you want to go with them and they tell you it isn't your time. To be patient, that things will get better. Richard Adrian it's like the whole world shatters, like even breathing is too hard, too much effort. And you feel like it's so noticeable that he's gone, like everyone on earth should notice this, this emptiness he left, but people just go on, not even realizing he's gone, and it's hard to picture being like them again, being able to live without this constant reminder your best friend isn't there. People who were so much less than him get to keep going and he doesn't.

Great song by Gary Allen. My 13 yrd old daughter asked me today who are my all time favorite artists.. I quickly mentioned Gary Allen as one- she quickly agreed- this happened while we were listening to Gary's latest "unfiltered". plus she got to see Gary at Busch Gardens in Tampa a few years ago and is a big fan. "Dad play Gary Allen on your Alexa phone app"

This song was loved by me in another genre and I’ve always loved Gary’s singing and his ability to hit me where so many newbies FAIL to make a TRUE connection these days...but I digress, soon as I heard him singing this, it hit me so hard and it even unlocked some memories for me. He will always be one of the best country singers for me, I’d say, as it does take someone that can reach me often times to prove to me that there are others out there still existing like myself that...are as impacted as I am.....by life and the damages done from one human to another.... He fits right up there with me as with the late and horribly lost Holly Dunn and Lari White, both lost earlier this year due to cancer. Now when I found that out, I literally cried for the impact those two made, for footprints made in the sands of my soul that have remained with me throughout my days, still.

This song came out when I fell in love for the.first time at the ripe old age of 32. My job got outsourced so I went back to college, I met the most beautiful sweetest 21 yr old in my summer humanities class. We dated for 2 years while I went to MCG. Best time of my Life. She worried about what her parents and outside influences thought, we broke up in 07 but still saw each other. At times when we were seeing other people, only quit when we were married. I flew to see her last year and asked her about flying out and "dating", her mother had such a presence over her bc her mother didn't approve she wouldn't. We still talked on the phone but I never got to hold her again. She called me in October of last year to tell me she had met somebody avd was happy. Broke my heart but I was Happy that she was happy. I haven't talked to her since. This past Monday my brother messaged me asking about her passing. The guy she met and was happy with, killed her back in January. I had no idea bc we hadn't talked, if she was happy I was as well. This song is the epitome of how I feel today. I've had a hard time dealing with it all. I bought this album and we used to listen to it all the time. The irony of it all
