Now' speaking from the point of view of someone who has never been metal detecting in his life (yet) I would dig that grunt all day long! But that's just me, as soon as the detector made a noise I'd probably dig it! lol
Thanks for the demonstrations, I’m considering this model as my first ever purchase as a potential newbie. I’m a veteran diagnosed with complex PTSD and need to find an hobby which is outdoors. I’ve always been interested in detecting, looking at this video spurred me on to give it a go. Thank you 👍

I'm glad its helped, my son uses this now and he found a 13th century book mount last weekend.. (video coming soon) Have a look at my channel, I have a few videos about mental health and wellbeing as I also need an outdoor hobby to keep me grounded. I have a disability and so know a little of what it's like to feel "stuck" inside. Thanks for watching.

Best way with a garrett mate, to be honest you start to learn as you go to. So if your in a field and keep getting horse shoes at bouncy 50s, (example) you start to guess what it is before you dig it 😂

Just bought me me a 300i to start detecting with but beefed it up with a 15x12" butterfly double d coil to get a bit more depth
sometimes when scanning the ground i get a number on the screen but no beep. I also buried a pound coin and at first it didn't pick it up but after a few sweeps I found it but that's only because I knew it was there otherwise I would have passed right over it... my 250 could find a needle in a haystack

Hi would a new coil on that machine pick up the coin under the first pot please thanks was that basic coil or have you updated coil since for depth thanks
Interesting to see it not be able to find such a large coin on jewellery setting , I had it on that setting and found half a hollowed out button cell battery at about 20cm deep
Some interesting tests there, that stock coil is quite limited in regards depth, hence why the larger Nel coils are so popular with Ace owners. The Pro-Formance DD coil on the 400i is a better stock coil, it makes a significant difference. Thanks for the video. ATB MMMD

@GrowYourOwnLife
5 жыл бұрын
Well... The 300i is newer, and so the tech is more upto date. But the 350 has a better coil. The DD. (double d} if I had my way I'd have 300 with a DD coil or a NEL coil. Seen then in action and that seriously up the performance. Suppose the way to think of it is like this, if you get a 350 it's better to start with but it's old and will never really improve it. If you get a 300i it's great to start with and if you want you can upgrade the coil at a later date and improve it beyond what the 350 is. But that's just my humble opinion :)
I have the ace 300. Can you tell me the differences between the 300 and the 300i. I just got my 300!
This is Brill mate
Thanks for testing the Ace 300I. I'm interested in that detector and as you said, there aren't a lot of reviews out there :)
Ive got a Garret 250 is it worth upgrading ?
Minelab for me all the way. Esp the vanquish
15:55 I disagree, I would, out in the field with the same scenario and with your demonstration (a constant detection with a low tone) because it's repetative over a localised area, ide want to dig. Also because there's few conflicting tones In the area and soil is coming up clean. I would trowel some soil away and re scan. Or use a pin pointer or Pro pointer. I guess thats a learning curve and it's what you learn before advancing to more powerful deeper detecting and detectors with more advanced functions.
grazie mille 👍
Just bought one and looking forward to watching this. Better be good. 😂🤣🤞 Edit @ 20 mins in :- Gotta say, already learned quite a bit. 👏👏👏👏 Edit @ end :- Well that was really interesting. Thank you for posting this test. I guess at the end of the day it’s fair to say that as the detector is level entry, I’d expect it to have a lower hit/accuracy rate then a top end machine. Can’t wait to get out with it. Rain, rain, go away.......! 👍👍

You can get cheap ones, they are OK for 1-2 inches. But if you are serious you'll soon get bored then it's just a waste of £50-100. So really better to get a good brand from the start. The old Garrett 150 is often cheap as the newer Garrett 200i is replacing it. My son has a 200i, really good machine. Plus you can upgrade them if you take the hobby up seriously.

A detector isn't a magic wand to lead you to treasure, so you have to learn the sounds. So it's about learning that not eveything will "ping up" a solid ID. This decors is £250 and is great for beginers to better it your looking at spending at least twice that. In my opinion. So it's up to you to weigh up what you want. By all means go and spend £800 but unless you walk over gold you won't find it, 25% of detecting is luck 50% is time the other 25% is the machine and how you use it. 😁 Someone with a cheap machine who spends 10hrs a weeks digging hundreds of signals will always do better than someone with a £1000 machine who goes out once a month. But then there's always someone who goes out once and luckily walks over a hoard of coins.
Think yours is broke man.
