Croton is an extensive flowering plant genus in the spurge family, Euphorbiaceae. The plants of this genus were described and introduced to Europeans by Georg Eberhard Rumphius. The common names for this genus are rushfoil and croton, but the latter also refers to Codiaeum variegatum.
For the best color development crotons should receive good light but have some protection from full midday sun. Their color burns out in full sun and hardly develops at all in shade, Bender says. Even crotons bred for indoor use need as much light as they can get to hold their color well.
Croton growing in containers should only be watered when the top of the soil is dry to the touch. Then, they should be watered until the water flows out the bottom of the container. The plant should also be kept away from drafts and cold, as it cannot tolerate temperatures below 60 degrees F.

Garmiyon me west direction me bahut loo lagati hai aur sardiyon me east se thandi havae kya croton ka direction dono seasons me change karna sahi rahega?

Hello Anitaji My crotons have lost their red colour .Earlier they were like yours only. Now they have green yellow colour on their leaves. Please guide me how to revive their original red colour back?

this is due to high sun , high sun leads to more chlorophyll, so leaves looks more green. Some times use of high nitrogen fertiliser also leads to this .

Very informative. My crotons leaves got very sticky as if someone has smeared honey on it . Found out it’s a fungal infection called honeydew Used home remedies. But when they didn’t work out , used Emeida spray. Now they are fine

Hmara croton to aangan me rakha hai , jahan sahi dhoop aati hai ,magar fir bhi woh grow nahi. Kar rahe aur pattiyan bhi sidhi nahin ho rahi .pani bhi dar dar ke dete hain .ab ham kya karen pls batayen .

Plastic k pot may laga hai ya terracotta k ? Agar plastic May laga ho to ek baar acche say paani dijiye aur roz pattiyo par halki paani ki phuhaar jaroor daale . Plant ki growth acchi hogi
