    You can of course do more or less the same directly in Garmin Connect if you do not want to subscribe to Strava.

    Really nice feature. Thanks for making the video to explain it! Hoping Komoot routes will support this soon as well.

    You don't need up ahead. Just make a data page on fenix 3 or 5 or 7 that uses wpt next and distance to next. Even add time to next. These course points work on these older devices. I have been building ultra courses with aid stations this year and it brilliant to see how far to run for water stops. Does up ahead work with turn by turn or does that still need to be off Great integration. Thanks for the video

    Sir, Thank you so much for sharing this information. I've to plan & save for Strava Subscription & for Garmin devices. This feature could be useful for many organizers from India. I've been watching many videos yesterday about Brevet events from 100 KM, 200 KM, 400 KM, & 600 KM. I found only few people using a GPS devices either a watch or bicycle computers. No one had maps / navigation with them, no communication devices except phones or they communicate within the group by talking loudly during the rides, No bicycle repairs done during the Brevet events, No first aid kits, No tolls to transport the broken vehicles, No ambulances to transport the injured, Not much in the management except for Registers & distribution of food at the Control points . No information about Restrooms, Changing rooms, Restaurants , participants & riders manage everything on the go. Except for the planned stops at Control points. I feel the necessity of such Sports Apps , planned Rides / courses, etc which can help the organizers & the participants a lot. Very useful video & Thanks once again Sir 🙏🕊

    Looks pretty cool. I wonder if Strava's expanding route functionality could replace RWGPS for (and one less subscription). Have you compared those recently?

    I’m looking at either getting the Garmin fenix 6 pro or the forerunner 955. I want something that will be good for occasional backpacking with no service with a good battery life, but is also great for everyday wear and running with great navigation. Is the 955 good for all of these things or should I go with the fenix 6 pro?

    Man, I wish both Wahoo and Komoot (separate companies, same issue) can catch up with custom POIs, it is a very handy feature. Not a deal-breaker to me, but surely a nice to have. Is there a limit on how many custom POIs can you use with Strava? I have noticed many companies offer custom POIs, but many (lke Wikiloc) limit the amount of POIs per route.

    Have you done a video how to use waypoints in Garmin connect course maker? Or is it all quite simple? I usually make courses in the OS maps app and export the GPX file.

    Since this is a Strava feature, would the course and subsequently the waypoints also transfer to other watch manufacturers, like Coros, that also can import routes automatically from Strava?

    In theory this should be an agnostic feature - actually was going to do a bunch of testing on other devices this week.

    Des, I just got a 1040 Solar (coming from Karoo 2). I don’t intend to subscribe to Strava. Will I be able to do that with course planning with the Garmin app?

  • @DesFit

    @DesFit

    Yup! You can add course points in Garmin Connect either from the app or from the website (which I find to be easier and can also be more precise with drawing the route).

  • @DesFit

    @DesFit

    6 ай бұрын

    It's very similar but this allows you to build a route in Strava which may have more tools at your disposal when building routes plus it can be shared easily, such as for event organizers.

    Trying to do the same thing on garmin Connect is painfully, and AFAIK it is only possible on the mobile app, so , definitely, this is a great add on
