    I currently have a Schwinn 800ic and have been using it for the last few months. I really liked it so far (especially using magnetic resistance) and it led me to start road cycling(I bought an old carbon bike with di2). But it does not cover my Zwift rides completely and I especially hate manually adjusting resistance while breathing from my *ss. And this bike exactly covers what is missing from my current one. auto-adjusting resistance with the app, ability to shift gears, I can stop pedaling for a moment (peloton bikes are not really preventing, it forces your foot to move on), auto-adjust fan to my upper body (I am using a normal fan and it keeps my feet cold and makes too cold while warmup and not enough cold while pushing). Basically, this will be my next big purchase definitely.

    Looks like a great exercise bike to have for those with spare cash and room. I wonder does bikes like these start to creak eventually for heavier riders? BTW Des, you know tons of bodybuilders are going to hate you and possibly unsubscribe because you actually have calf muscles? :D great review as always 👍

    Super nice bike. I have used it for a week now and I'm super happy with it. The only thing missing is the chance to implement gearing options for 2 separate riders. Me and my wife we both use the Neo bike but our real bikes gearing setup is different. I use SRAM 2x12 and she's using 1x12. It would be super helpful if it would be possible to save these ifferences in the phone app and overwrite/sync them before every ride. At the moment the only option is to enter the sprocket sizes every time by hand.

    Love the robotic film work here 🙌 Ok, where is the DesMusic channel. 🎸 Just wondering because I'm itching to sub. I'm also a pretty strong cyclists and can hold 11 to 12 watt sprints as well. . . oh you said 1100. Forget I said anything. One of these days, a company is going to come up with an electric setting for 2-3 different positions. It'd be amazing for couples that share these very expensive indoor bikes. Amazing review as always Des! 👏

    I bought the old version a month ago (at 20% discount I couldn't leave it there 🙂). The first thing I had to complain about was the adjustment levers. That was crazy-stupid engineering. My two sons are also using it and adjusting the height is inconvenient to say the least. Glad to see that Tacx recognized it too and improved on it. (costs nothing). None of us have problem with rubbing the frame. The erg mode really sucks. My 12+ old Tunturi ergometer is doing a better job holding set power. And it was mentioned in all previous reviews. I wonder why Tacx can't make it better. As for that skip, what DP Lama complained about in his review, I haven't experienced it. Maybe, because I don't push so hard, started only base training and me not being a real pro cyclist can't even reach that power level. As of now I'm happy with the bike and the improvements are in the good direction. There are still some room.

    I have just subscribed to your channel and I have a question for you. I know you said that you do not need a tablet for this bike, but if you want to use Zwift or any of the other bike apps I would need to add the cost getting a new tablet as mine packed up over 2 years ago. Doing so means that it brings my total cost to that of the Technogym Ride. Should I just go for the Technogym Ride? What do you think?

    Super job on a comprehensive and balanced review. I’ve been riding the Neo 2t smart trainer for a couple years so I’m used to the feel of the Garmin ERG mode. Are you suggesting the Plus ERG experience is less than Neo 2T?

    Right on time Des! Would you say the grade change on the wahoo is just a cool gimick or actually increases the fun factor? I heard the wobble could be problematic.

  • @DesFit

    @DesFit

    Жыл бұрын

    I didn't necessarily find it to be problematic and it's fun at first but can certainly wear off over time. The issue I ran into though with the KICKR bike is that it could develop creaks over time since there are so many junctures with all the different components and you'd have to track those down and tighten them at times to solve them.

    Great review, thanks! I noticed when you were riding that your iPad was jiggling. I would think that would be bothersome when riding. Is there any way to solid that up any, or is it just the trainer itself moving back and forth? Thanks again.

  • @DesFit

    @DesFit

    Жыл бұрын

    The jiggling is just from the piece that attaches to the LCD display to hold the iPad. It's not all that bothersome and usually only happens on harder efforts. Just riding along it seems to be pretty stable. Thanks!

    Excellent, informative review! Do the quality of pedals matter on a trainer bike (Shimano 105 vs Ultegra vs DuraAce)? Or just get the least expensive that have same basic characteristics as my regular road bike? I’d rather not spend the extra money if it makes little to no difference (weight doesn’t seem to be an issue with a stationary bike). Thanks!

    I bought the previous model just 1-2 months ago and I'm very happy with it. Silence is golden! The changes are nice. but I don't regret that I have the old model. Also a big plus: I could do a comfortable bike fit, time and time again. Never felt that good on my tri bars (glad I could put them on the Neo). Now I know that my next road bike will be a size bigger than the old one.

  • @JMower

    Bit of a weird question, are the gears limited to ones you could get in real life? For example of course a 2x12 setup is completely normal, but could you instead have a 1x18 or something ridiculous like that? Just curious because it seems easier to just have one massive virtual cassette and only have to bother changing up and down on the rear, rather than having to bother with changing at the front 🤷‍♂

    How do you feel about the static nature of a smart bike vs a trainer with your own frame (esp. one like the 3M that allows movement front-back and side-to-side? Other reviewers say they find themselves wanting to get off the bike occasionally bc of it’s lack of movement. This is what the first release should have been and at the $2799 price! Great review, thanks!

    It's not clear that this is really a good value at all when you look at the price compared to say the Stages which is onsale now. Plus the issues seen - GPLama mentions. Yes, it's an incremental improvement and good to see progress there. But I'd be hard pressed to buy something like this.

    I was using an iPad Pro. Ensure that the bike isn't paired via bluetooth to another device like your phone. A simple toggle of bluetooth off on your phone would do the trick if that's the culprit. Hope that works for you.

    @@DesFit Thanks. The bike is definitively connected to the iPad, the issue I'm having during workouts is the bike is the power demand not changing from high to low power during a sequence of overs and under for example, I have to turn ERG off to get out of the high power output interval and turn it on again. Have you experienced a similar issue?

    The price comparison may be a little skewed because we are talking about an entire bike vs an individual component or a trainer. Not saying there isn’t some work to be done with ERG mode but getting one component correct vs the complexity of an entire bike can be different.
