Here's a quick video showing how I set up my outdoor golf simulator space. I went for portability with my setup, which enables me to move things around pretty easily depending upon the weather.
Hopefully I'll have some time to test out the new update with the RCT golf balls that are supposed to be compatible with the R10 now.
Here are the links to equipment I am using in my outdoor setup shown in the video:
Garmin R10: amzn.to/3zyGHEJ
Spornia Store: amzn.to/3phvvYF
(Note, I have the SPG-8, but they are all good depending on your size needs)
Country Club Elite Hitting Strip (10''x24''): amzn.to/3zBrsLt

Hey there just got mine and I absolutely love it. Do you take it down every time after use? I didn’t and i live in Florida and the wind and rain didn’t seem to good for it

I watch the weather and take it down if rain is coming. If the weather forecast is nice I just take the tent poles out and lay it flat to avoid wind damage.

What is the distance from the very front of the net to sheet where the ball makes impact? I have a Mevo+ and it needs 8-10 feet for best results but I don’t want to be too far back from it and risk missing

I put the ball 8.5 feet from the sheet. For drives, it is 8 feet as the ball is further forward.

@@mattgross76 yeah I get that, I mean on the net itself, the closet part of the bottom net to you vs where the ball impacts. I’m guessing the very front of the net is a ball return? So like how deep is the net? If that makes sense. Like if I put my hitting mat as close as I could, how far could the ball fly if I hit it from like an inch in front of the bottom of the net. I may have confused myself there lol

@mako_golf the numbers I mentioned are from ball to impact. Depending upon the mat I am using, it's about a foot or 2 from the bottom of the spornia

Is there any slope to your backyard from the garmin to the hitting mat? Do you need to have a level yard for this setup? My yard slightly slopes and isn’t perfectly flat

Outside there is some slope, but it needs to be pretty flat where your feet and hitting area is.

@@mattgross76 it’s relatively flat, I’m just curious if where the garmin is setup needs to be the same level as where the mat is

@@ak-jonesNo, it doesn't. My Garmin is above the hitting mat in all of my setups. I'd say anywhere from 4-6 inches. When I go outside, I put the R10 on top of a tool box for example.

Your R10 seems to be higher as compared to the height of the mat. Is that the case? Thx

Yes I elevate it a bit. I usually like the feet of the stand to be above the ball.
