    I upgraded to the 7s pro sapphire solar from the 7s standard edition, my experience so far: Much better HR monitor during all activities, especially hiking and probably other wrist-using (poles) activities. Harder to see the screen on the 7s pro sapphire solar than the standard 7s because of glare. Better battery life, especially on sunny days.

    Love my 6x pro. Kinda wanna upgrade but will probably wait. I find the naming conventions for Garmin products to be really confusing. For fenix 6, pro meant you have full maps. Now it seems to be used as the next iteration with small improvements all round, like they use + in other products. I didn’t really care about having a sapphire screen as the basic screen is very durable, but I’ve just realised that there are other features included in the sapphire. They should copy Apple and keep the choices simpler.

    Like when you have a huge range of different watches, do you really need a big range of different versions of the same model too? It’s confusing and kinda puts me off choosing.

    @@mtbert9307 It totally is confusing. I just bought a 2nd hand fenix 6s thinking it had maps to find only the pro does. Looking online seems I'm not the only person to make that mistake.

    Not using the 7 at the moment as now I'm on the epix gen 2 as I have to buy and sell the watches to review. I've had no issues with the compass for the little time I have used it, but I have had issues with trying to load maps to set up auto route. Have you got a 7?

    I brought the Garmin fenix 7x pro sapphire solar for work and it's a beast. The band was a little tight, but it stretched out enough to wear it. My wrists are 25cm

    @@STAGFITNESS During the summer, I was getting around 270,000 lux a day, and we're creeping into winter soon . Right now I'm averaging between 50,000 and 70,000 lux hours. Last week Monday I fully charged my watch and spent the week out hiking/hunting, and the first 3 days were cloudless by Thursday the rain had set in. So by Saturday when I arrived back to civilization the battery was on 55% which I thought was pretty good. To be fair I'm not entirely sure how the lux hours really affect the battery life other than to sustain the battery from leaking out to much. All in all I'm impressed with the Garmin fenix model as I had a G Shock Mudmaster GG-B100 before, and I'm also looking at purchasing the Garmin Instinct 2X solar tactical specifically for hunting and using the fenix for work. Thank you for the reply mate.

    hmmm...I have lived with Garmin Forerunner and Fenix for more than 10 years. The only thing I need for Garmin is to create a model with eSim inside. I need real time Spotify for my running. I'm sooooo annoyed with the downloading speed from Spotify to Garmin....I'm starting to think of iWatch Ultra instead.

    There are a few differences I've noticed as I've used the Pro for a couple of weeks. Little things like the shape of the light from the torch is a flat oval, it was circular on the 7X SS. And the display on the Pro is much brighter, though there are less brightness 'steps' to choose from.

    Looking for a smartwatch to track steps, workouts, Gps, with a decent battery life (5ish days?) and basic health metrics like heart rate and sleep. I want to be able to read it in the sunlight but I don't care for the thin ones like the charge 5. Also, not very fond of buying something only to have to pay for a subscription. There are so many options, obviously I like the fenix but thats a steep price for a watch. Is it really worth it? Or which would you recommend instead?

    I also have heart that the display by 7 pro is better like a resolution and brightness. I can not decide which one to take 7x or 7x pro. Maybe the differance in the display is not so bigg for the money.

  • @STAGFITNESS

    @STAGFITNESS

    Not a stupid question as they all vary based on the battery modes. In normal smartwatch mode the 42mil is up to 11 days, 18 days for the 47mil and the 51mil is 28 days not including solar charging.

    The difference isn't major and will depend if you are going to use the extra features. Otherwise they're just a nice to have. Personally I'm enjoying the new Garmin Venu 3, which will cover you for most of what you need. If you don't mind the less bulky look of it.

    Hello, thank you very much for the rash answer. I need it for run, marathon, not for golf, climbing or skiing. I will order maybe the watch with titanium band, in the moment 7X titanium 790 euro, 7x pro titan 1250 euro, too big diffarance. And maybe "pro" should be for pro runners. I will watch now Venu 3 and its options.@@STAGFITNESS

    @@MariyaIlteris Sorry didn't mean it to come across as a rash answer. If I was personally spending that kind of money then I would go with the 7x pro for its features and premium build quality. The forerunner 965 is another great option.

    With the rash answer I mean quick, immidiat answer, not after 3 weeks answer... I used maybe wrong words in English. Sorry for that. Yes, I will think about this advice, pro or not pro, it is quite expensive, it is because of the strap from Titanium. Just only the strap is 300 euro. I will think about that. all besides the person makes the watch pro, the watch does not make the runner pro. My boyfriend has been on Olympic games 2016 and still run with Garmin forerunner 235 :) maybe most cheap garmin watch. Have a nice day. @@STAGFITNESS
