As a traveler from Germany, how do you get through these turnstiles on the platform at this train station with a ticket purchased online and stored digitally on your cell phone?

Hi, thanks for your question. Unfortunately I have not used this option and would not be able to give you much info. Perhaps you can get a physical ticket from the vending machines by showing your ticket. Or perhaps you can go to a counter on the station and ask them to give you a physical ticket. I do not recall seeing all stations with digital readers. I also checked the webiste (maratp.ratp.fr/categorie/mon-trajet/) but it was not very helpful. The people at the ticket counter are also not very fluent in English, so you may need to use google translate. And when speaking at the counter, remember that there are people around who are interested in your stuff. So watch out. Safe travels :)

Hi, I am sorry I do not understand your question. I assume your starting point is Gare de l'Est. What is your destination?

@@poluki OK I put Montparnasse as the end point in Google maps and get the option to take metro 4. You have to get out of the station building (i.e. Gare de l'est). You go to your right just a little, and you see Bd de Strasbourg. You see a building with Burger King, and just beside Burger King there is a staircase that takes you underground. There is a sign that also says Metro. You have metro lines 4, 5 and 7 from here. You take the metro to Raspail. Get down at Raspail and get out of the metro. Montparnasse is very close.

Google Maps is usually very good to give you steps to go. There is a live maps option if you get lost. It will show you direction with arrows on a live map. You have to use your camera. Give it a shot.
