When I started looking for Rameau almost nothing was available..now he is well represented and I often have felt lucky to be alive to witness this! Rameau is my Patron Saint!

I've clicked through so many videos, through so many incredible, weird ambient landscapes... I feel like I'm going on a train trip, seeing a succession of crazy, never-before-seen scenes from history, important, weird musics through the window as I pass... there's so much to explore. So many places to alight and dwell in the ambiences that are on offer. This stop, in particular, is brilliant

OMG Rameau was such a genius; I love this music, and it is incredibly timeless.. even modern. Thank you for this wonderful concert. For me, it is the essence of France; but a gift to the whole World.

I agree that this should be released on DVD. I would buy it in a heartbeat. But in the meantime, it's nice to have this KZread version (which I play endlessly), and I thank you very much for posting!

At this moment....this video seems like the best thing I've ever seen and heard!!! Rameau's music is full of richness and elegance. The orchestra and conductor are flawless; the dancers so graceful. And to top it off my South African compatriots are featured. Well done to Buskaid!!!

I find it fascinating how the rhythm and overall feel of both the traditional African dancing and the baroque French music go together so well. It just goes to prove how art is universal, and it serves the same purpose no matter when or where we are.

Fantastic !!!! Rameau made such exihilarating and moving music. He was one of the revolutionaries in music. It's a mind-boggling eye-opener to hear (and see) his music in this context. Wish i had been there. Must have been quite a night :-) Bravo to the good soul that uploaded this !

There are three outstanding documents of the rediscovery of Rameau's stage music - Nadia Boulanger's 1950 LP, Gardiners late 1970's Prom performance of Les Boreades, and this 2007 Prom, which must be one of the greatest of all Proms. At the moment, this is the only one freely available in any form. When you compare it with the currently available DVD of Les Paladins there's no doubt at all who gets their Rameau right and who has no idea how to. The BBC should get this on to DVD now.
