Gardeners' World 2024🍀Episode 12

With summer just around the corner, Monty reveals his plans for planting up pots in his cottage garden, shares tips on how to start your own topiary from scratch, and in the veg garden, gets some pumpkins in the ground.
Sue Kent visits a unique garden in Carmarthenshire situated around a wooden house on stilts. Designed with an artistic eye, it’s a haven for wildlife with a magnificent pond as its centrepiece. Carol Klein also continues her masterclass on how we can all grow plants for free, and this time she is taking cuttings.
In a sub-tropical garden in Devon is the rare horticultural treat of a Puya chilensis in flower. And in Suffolk, there's a gardener who holds a National Collection of bearded iris created by her great-great-grandfather.

My Auntie Toni….her British ancestry is an amazing story in itself….she told me…”take a huge big screwdriver from your husbands shop, stab it into the ground, pop the geranium cutting into it and water. It will grow”. Sooo many did and continue to. Thank you, Monty and Carole. She would have loved you both 🥰

Not sure if you realised, but this ep is twice as long as it's the same one repeated. Good episode, though!

Thanks for all the videos and the content. I look forward to it every week and unfortunately have to say that unlike the BBC in Austria, the ORF doesn't even come close to offering anything as great.

You don't have to cut down the tree to harvest apples and you don't have to uproot the plant to harvest a pineapple. Unless she was saying she has 2 or 3 pineapple plants now.
