My garden update after that hail storm a few weeks ago and then frost. It is looking rather pathetic for June. This is not a normal year as it's been extremely cold and wet so far this year. Not giving up on it as it will take a few nice warm days to give everything a boost. We are on a wetland so we also face that challenge here where we live.
Last year we had a pretty nice garden in comparison considering it was the first year we put it in as this entire patch was all nothing but a grassy field. We added a bunch of garden dirt this year so hopefully it won't flood as bad this year. Plus I planted everything in hills rather than just flat to the ground so that the water could go in between the rows instead of drowning all the plants.
Between pocket gophers, hail, frost, and being on a wetland, one can only hope that Mother Nature comes and helps out this year!
