Garden redesign - Germany 4K Travel Channel
The pandemic limited our travel in 2020. So we, like many others, concentrated on our own home.
Planning and history:
Everything starts very harmlessly but then develops into a larger project.
At the end of the summer, we had to replace our parasol. So we get ourselves a new one in the DIY shop. A short time later, we find that our 10-year-old patio furniture has also reached the end of its life cycle. At the purchase of the garden umbrella, we saw garden furniture made of polyrattan next door. We liked it, and so we bought one of the sofa sets.
In case of bad weather, we have to cover it with a plastic tarp. If we want to use the sofa set, we have to remove the tarp again. The result is that we also buy a pavilion, in which we can leave the seating set untouched even in bad weather. It is of aluminum, and the outer walls consist of a fly screen. There are large sliding doors on all four sides.
Unfortunately, we did not consider that terraces with a slight incline are being built in our region so that the water can run off when it rains, even for hydro-active pavements.
As a result, the pavilion has a slope, and the doors are constantly rolling downwards. Strong wind pushes them back in the other direction. We can avoid this by using magnets, but basically, the problem remains. So we decided to redesign the terrace as well, as this is no longer particularly attractive. We wanted to have a WPC terrace installed. In the end, it became a BPC (bamboo) terrace, as it is easier to maintain and more stable in color.
In the meantime, we have encountered a new issue. The seating set shall not remain in the open or in the pavilion in winter. The garage is not necessarily an ideal space for this either. The result is that we also need a tool shed. One is found in the DIY shop quickly, but we need a foundation for it.
In 2020 we bought a cheap frame pool, which also offered us a lot of fun and relaxation in hot weather. During a phone call with an architect friend of ours, she tells us that she once had such a pool, but for some reason, it toppled over and caused a decent flood. Since our property is a little higher than that of our neighbors, this remark puzzled us.

Pandemie-bedingt sind wir 2020 bei unseren Reisen eingeschränkt, sodass wir uns - wie viele andere Menschen auch - auf das eigene zu Hause konzentrieren.

Alles beginnt sehr harmlos, entwickelt sich aber dann doch zu einem umfangreicheren Projekt.
Als unser Sonnenschirm Ende des Sommers erneuerungsbedürftig ist, besorgen wir uns im Baumarkt einen Neuen. Kurze Zeit danach stellen wir fest, dass unsere 10 Jahre alten Terrassenmöbel ebenfalls das Ende ihres Lebenszyklus erreicht haben. Beim Kauf des Gartenschirms haben wir nebenan Gartenmöbel aus Polyrattan gesehen, welche uns zugesagt haben. Also kaufen wir auch eine der Sitzgarnituren.
Rasch stellen wir fest, dass diese bei schlechtem Wetter mit einer Plastikplane abgedeckt werden muss. Wollen wir sie benutzen, muss die Plane wieder entfernt werden. Die Folge ist, dass wir uns auch noch einen Pavillon kaufen, in dem wir auch bei schlechtem Wetter die Sitzgarnitur unangetastet stehen lassen können. Er ist aus Aluminium und die Außenwände bestehen aus einem Fliegengitter. An allen vier Seiten sind große Schiebetüren angebracht.
Leider haben wir nicht bedacht, dass in unserer Region Terrassen mit leichter Neigung gebaut werden, damit bei Regen das Wasser ablaufen kann, obwohl die Terrassen versickerungsfähig sind.
Dies hat zur Folge, dass der Pavillon geneigt steht und ständig die Türen abwärts rollen. Heftiger Wind schiebt diese wieder in die andere Richtung. Letzteres lässt sich durch Magneten vermeiden, aber grundsätzlich bleibt das Problem. Also fassen wir den Beschluss auch die Terrasse neu zu gestalten, da auch diese nicht mehr sonderlich ansehnlich ist. Wir beschließen eine WPC Terrasse installieren zu lassen. Am Ende wurde es eine BPC (Bambus) Terrasse, da diese leichter zu pflegen und farbbeständiger ist.
In der Zwischenzeit sind wir auf ein neues Problem gestoßen - die Sitzgarnitur soll im Winter nicht im Freien oder im Pavillon bleiben. Die Garage ist auch nicht unbedingt ein idealer Platz dafür. Das Ergebnis ist, dass wir auch noch ein Gerätehaus brauchen. Im Baumarkt ist rasch eines gefunden, allerdings brauchen wir ein Fundament dafür.
2020 haben wir uns einen günstigen Framepool angeschafft, der uns bei heißem Wetter auch viel Vergnügen und Entspannung bot. Auch dafür benötigen wir ein solides Fundament. Bei einem Telefonat mit einer befreundeten Architektin erzählt sie uns, dass sie auch einmal solch einen Pool hatte, der aber aus irgendwelchen Gründen kippte und eine ordentliche Flutwelle verursachte. Da unser Grundstück etwas höher liegt als das unserer Nachbarn brachte uns diese Bemerkung doch sehr ins Grübeln.

Hallo Richard und Elizabeth, vielen Dank für Euer Urteil und Lob! Das beste an diesem Garten ist jetzt aber, dass wir problemlos verreisen können (wenn es wieder vernünftig möglich ist) und alles läuft ohne zutun automatisch weiter :-) Lediglich Rasenmähen muss man manuell :-( und vor dem Winter muss man Pool und Beregnungsanlage einwintern und im Frühjahr wieder neu beleben. Doch selbst dafür gebe es eine Lösung. Wir hoffen Ihr hattet einen schönen Sommer und habt diesen genossen, was bei uns leider nicht so richtig möglich war. Erst im August ist es wieder etwas gemütlicher geworden!Euch ebenfalls eine schöne und erholsame Zeit und lasst es Euch richtig gut gehen!

@@myvideomedia Deeply thanks for your wonderful reply, my children really grow big but no have knowledge from school yet because of the corona virus 19. The most video in my chanel is the action teaching my daughter at home by myself. Mix children are amazing. My daughter is alway surprise me so much. when she was four years in three months she can speak my language (khmer) . On November , 8, 2021 she 7 years old. Around two and half months i decide teach her both hkmer and English by my self. As you see in video she can read English and hkmer so good in short time. Now I also a private English teacher too for a little kid. I hopefully you all have a great summer , healthy and great luke for everything, greeting to your whole family also all of your friends.
