Despite the leaflet saying it's good as a squirrel deterrent too I haven't found this to be the case just yet. Newly installed next to where the squirrels feed and they carry on feeding whilst being curious about the new addition to the garden.

Thanks for watching and commenting. Have you tried turning up the volume and trying one of the other frequencies? We haven't used ours for a while because our son is now back living with us and he has a dog, which seems to be the best cat deterrent there is.

Hi Rob, thanks for getting in touch. I tried it on the highest setting and placed it practically on top of the place where they feed. I have since decided the batteries may have been low so replaced them with new ones and changed the siting of the deterrent in case the positioning was not quite right. Will monitor for the next few days.

What we used to find was that we had to keep shifting them around as the cats worked out where they were and just used to come in somewhere else.

4 X AA battery .- YEs, it works ! Seems that the noise turns the place a bit uncomfortable for cats.

What frequency setting did you use to get rid of the cats?

what size battery does this take?

What type of screwdriver opens the battery compartment,?

It is a philips screwdriver. I have to say that although they were effective to begin with after about 7-10 days the cats just ignored them. Thanks for watching and commenting. Stay safe and well.

Yes, it was quite effective for about a week, then the cats just ignored it. We moved it around and the same thing happened. We found that it had little effect after about a month, the cats just got used to it. Thanks for watching and commenting. Stay safe and well.

@@RobMellowship yeah, I looked into these as well, at one point, and this is very common. They can also deter other mammals, like hedgehogs, foxes etc, as the frequencies are very much the same, at least that's what I learnt at the time, a few yrs back. It's a dog barking deterrent that I need!!! I absolutely love dogs, but I live in a neighbour where nobody seems to bother if their dog is barking all day!! 🙄

Yes they are working but we haven't used them this year because our Son and his dog have been living with us and that seems to have been a much better deterrent, not that I am suggesting that you get a dog. One thing we did find that every now and again it helped to change their position as the cats are quick learners. Hope that helps.

waste of money. I bought two and they're now defunct. the battery terminals have rusted up despite my double sealing the compartment with waterproof electric tape. An expensive poorly manufactured folly
